that's southern white redneck culture that they have adopted. It's the truth. I noticed it when I moved to New Hampshire in the 90's. First job I had up there the guy training me called me a silly bastard or dumb bastard....I grabbed a block of wood and swung at his head....luckily I missed him but it was close. I told him I knew who my father was and he better never call me a bastard. Scared him to death...plus a couple other people that saw it. Come to find out they use the word bastard as an adjective(?)....hotter than a bastard. colder than a bastard, snowing like a bastard....kinda funny.....
