Right up the road in LA waiting for pickup.

- my room is too small
- my wife would kill me
- it would most likely collect a lot of dust
- I don't have the physical space for it

BUT!?!?!?!?!?

If I start a GOFUNDME page, will you guys contribute?
It would remove the WIFE factor from the decision.
:D

Pass on it.

I like KSR, but have had a few in my possession to sell for a friend. I didn’t like anything about them.

Already decided to. It's too damn big for me at this stage in life.
Perfectly happy with his Vesta pre-amp. If anything I'll buy a Ceres to pair with it.

Just needed an excuse to post the picture since it's so damn cool looking.

I would have got it. If you like the Ceres you would love the Ares. I can get why some people don't like KSR but for me it's a go to amp flavor. The Ares is my favorite amp from them. I'm hoping that the Orion has the same qualities

Love how it looks, I think there is a youtube clip of Jer Evil getting some nice tones at NAMM (albeit of an older model of KSR )

Aren't you only like 65? You talk like you are about to fucking die.

63, but it ain't age it's space. I'm currently in 120 sq. ft. and once our older two
dogs pass on we'll be downsizing to an elderly complex so space/volume most
likely will still be as much, if not more of an issue.

The Ironball 20 on the 5 watt setting satisfies the occasional need to hear glass.
It's EL84s from here on out........ :cautious:

120 square feet? fuck bro.

Just do it man. White amps sound the best too
Pick up a captor X while you are at it.

if you think the amp sounds good and have fun playing it, it’s worth it. What’s more precious than time. You need to maximize your pleasure, fun and enjoyment. Never settle for second best, or good enough in life unless you have no choice. But hey, that’s just me.

Killing three birds with one stone! The room is small and the biggest problem is bass traps.

I'm a lead player so too much girth down low and in the mids doesn't work - I have to EQ it out.
Every time I try bigger glass (EL34 or 6L6) and big iron it just introduces more of the stuff I have
to try and remove. Played a Fireball 25 with 6L6s yesterday and was reminded of the problem so
it's going right back to the dealer. In this situation EL84s really work best.

You have plenty of room; for example, that white cabinet can be removed and replaced with a 100W full stack. Stackable plastic bins for that loose stuff, you'd have room for another amp and 2x12 or a combo. That's just a start.

For an engineer, I'd expect you'd be more efficient utilizing the space, you have 3 dimensions to work with.

I just hit the mother lode of bass traps and sound proofing panels.
They are demoing a building where I work that had a bunch of practice rooms and I loaded up a couple truck loads of it before it got knocked down.

The captor X is where it’s at man. The attenuator sounds great at “tv levels”.
Or at least as good as it can
