There isn't an option for why I'm here. I am here because after having been banned for many years from the gay page I was informed by a friend of mine about this place being inhabited by a lot of TGP ex-pats. So I checked it out. I used to be a working musician with a band and 10 asstons worth of gear, but those days are over. I no longer enjoy doing all that work and all the time spent away from home. I already work a ridiculous amount of OT so it just had to stop. My point is yes I am a musician and yes I have some interest in guitars and basses and music in general, most of which doesn't cross over to what most people here are in to. I have made friends in OT so here we are.

It would take an awful lot to get me to post a clip here. This place is full of the kind of people that would make me regret it fo sho. I will PM you a clip if you'd like Lisa, just know it's nothing special. :-)

Honestly love talking gear!

I joined because I like to try stuff, it’s nice to read what folks have used and what their impressions were before I purchase. Even though most times you just need to leap and try for yourself.

I’ve built three amps and always have questions. I’d like to mod my JTM45 presently…would like to tighten it up without a pedal.

My playing has gone downhill over the last ten or so years for a myriad of reasons and hoping to get back into serious practicing. Don’t get me wrong, I’ll still post a shitty clip, I’m not afraid.

Never know if I should hit the theory again or learn songs? Probably both if I’m being honest.

Being raised in a used car dealership where everything was for sale, sometimes I’m like that. I can afford gear, but sometimes I get too much stuff for me, and tend to trade or sell off, but that’s just to free up cash to try out more/different gear.

I dont like most YouTubers, so it’s places like this that I pick up information.

There are some monster players around here, love the amp/guitar/pedal demos here and it’s nice to have the ability to communicate with them…

First off, dcburn is rerarded! :banhim:

I come here for religion, politics and moto talk in the hobby section of OTC.

Mostly just teasing. I know a lot of people play here, and I get that there's a lot going on other than gear to talk about. I'm guilty of going off topic, too. We all need to vent and this is one of the few places left on the internet to openly do that. So, I def appreciate it for that, but I wouldn't join a forum where I had no interest in the main topic and my only purpose was to release my frustrations. It's a good place to talk openly, it's just a bit weird to me when people join just for the lulz. Not saying that's why most of you are here or doing, either.

Lol expats, nice

I always wanted to play guitar and ride a motorcycle so I did the next best thing and joined a guitar forum and bought a black t-shirt.
I live that dream - one day you might live up to your hero (me).

.... but I doubt it :p

I post up a few tunes now and then, don't need much gear because I plug right into an amp mostly. Occasionally I might learn something in terms of recording equipment or some esoteric gear issue but mostly I'm setup for the time being.

So I'm just here to troll :ROFLMAO:

At the same time ? Like Arlo Guthrie.
Yeah, or Ram Jam.

I got a sportster project in the shed I been dragging my feet on. Someone is supposed to cough up a title so I didn't want to dump a fortune into it before I had it in my hand. I need to clean the shed too. Dang mess.

No... get on to them - time is marching on.
I've had bikes before so I'm not in a big rush, plus I been on a "spend all my money on guitar stuff" kick lately. I have new clutch plates to put in there and I also have some braided throttle cables to cut to length but I need to clean out the shed so I have some work space. It's gotten out of hand. Soon as the weather gets better I'll be motivated.

Real men don't let other men ride sportsters....after age 21 that is.

???
The funny thing is I'm not that short and have a HD softail and a BMW S1000R but he often delivers insults to me about being some sort of short guy with small fingers. Now I find out he rides a sportster (as Seinfeld used to say - not that there's anything wrong with that :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO: )

Seriously though Sportsters with a nice pipe have one of the best sounds in motorcycling.

My dad said to me...when I was in my 20s...and wanted a sportster, because of costs, "boy, you'll look like a gorilla fuckin a football!"

So I got a deuce.

I have a saying.

Never let anyone by a Harley.....unless they have a lot of disposable cash, and a second job ....and no kids. ?

BMWs are my favorite motorcycles...as far as engineering and all that. Love those things.

Love HD too ...just like keeping my money more. Haha

The top end of my 2022 Harley Sport Glide got rebuilt under warranty because it was drinking too much oil. Since then I've done about 8000kms on the rebuild and I'm reasonably happy it's not drinking too much. Other than that it's been ok. Although some condensation once got into the speedo and had to be replaced as well... hmmm.... Although the BMW S1000R eats it for breakfast performance-wise it's a more sterile ride. I know that's counter intuitive... but the HD is a more engaging ride because it's more primitive. THe BMW is unbelievable but it's a bit like a dyson vacuum cleaner unless you are doing track speeds. Instant response, very little noise, feels incredibly safe and you don't realise how fast you are going even at go to jail speeds. So at normal speeds the Harley is more fun because at normal speeds the BMW feels absolutely boring.

I've spent more on repair of all my bikes, than what they cost new. If you like to ride for a lot of distance, and love to go fast...HD will bleed one dry. I sold all mine... including some rare ones ...and I don't even ride anymore.

When I get a new one, in a few years....it will be an older BMW bagger.

I just cannot justify it anymore...unless I decide to get that shovelhead flh I have always wanted.... but those can be worked on for cheaper...and sound cooler.

(Sorry for thread derailment ?)
