Great tone! Where did you have the master set? Any attenuation or did you just let it rip?

Thanks
The amp had a PPIMV in it when I got it, but it wasn't hooked up.
So the other day I decided to hook it up and make a clip.
In the clip I had the master cranked up fairly loud.
I can hear in the recording the mic max out in some spots.

Sounds beastly and like it has sufficient gain on tap. I wouldn't bother modding it. You already have other amps that do the hotrodded thing. Try this with some single coils and a treble booster! Blackmore time

I love the way it sounds right now, I'm not going to mess with it.

The thing is you can NOT boost the front of these 200w Majors with a pedal, you will fry the amp by doing this. It's called "the Smoke on the Water effect."

I don't know why that would be, especially given the MV, but I'm not going to be the guy to urge you to do it!

I have only played on a Major a few times .... But have owned a few amps that had 4 - KT88. Favorites were a 1976 SUNN Model T & the one I have now ... Fryette Deliverance 120. This amount of power is kind of like driving a bulldozer down the road .... :)

You're lucky, I would love to own a Fryette Deliverance 120.
Great amplifier !!
