Sounds badass man , pretty much like I knew it would . What pickups are you running in the Washburn?

Thank you!!

I have a stock Bill Lawrence L-500XL in the bridge and the neck pickup is out a OLP Petrucci. I had it laying around so I thought I'd try it out in this guitar.
I kinda liked the way it sounded in the neck of this guitar, so it's been in it ever since. :^)

Mike what would an AU7 do for a 100 watt JMP 2203 in the PI ?

Well, it's going to give you a little less gain but you will get a more tighter & focused sound.
It becomes more evident the more you lean on the volume harder.

Ive had a NOS Blackburn Mullard 12AU7 for 11 years that was thrown in on a tube deal but ive never used it.

Christ Almighty is that a Punchy tewb in the PI of my FRIEDMAN JMP.

Think thats gonna stay. thanks Mike !

I have a modded jmp 100 watt Dan what are the differences that you notice currently running a Telefunken smooth plate in the P.I

Cool playing man, and the amp sounds great! I kept replaying the 1:17 to 1:30 part of the video. Insane tone!!

The attack is more percussive, hits harder the more you turn it up and tighter, more defined like Mike was saying. It sounds killer.

I haven't lost much gain if any.

I found another Blackburn Mullard 12AU7 in my tewb stash and have put it in my DSL.

There is less gain but so far sounds great. Its 6:51am here, my wife let me test it quick but was getting mad when i turned it up. Gotta wait til later.

So just played a bit, the lead notes are very sharp & clear. Still plenty of gain.

Step on a boost and the notes & chords jump out of the cab.

I had my DSL Master on "3" first time in the house without killing me.

Usually can't get past "2".

Friedman JMP Master was 1.5 notches higher as well.

So far the 12AU7's in the PI are working really well.

Just hoping i'll have no issues down the road.

Just wanted to add also there is less headroom but not really less gain which is cool cuz i can turn the amps up more.

-I've been using 12BZ7's in the PI slot, I'm really liking what the big plates & envelope bring to the table.

What amp are you using this preamp tube in and what does it bring to the table tone wise??

-WIZARD MC II & 2203KK-

-great definition & surprisingly head room or maybe just a bigger sound

Maybe the only con is the sound is a little more unforgiving.

Which is probably a good thing for me, kinda forces me to play more accurate and not so sloppy.

-I don't think you'll have to worry about sloppy playing Michael,
