Here it is, the rarest of the rare: a two-owner Mesa Mark IIC+ DRGX with all the original paperwork serviced and re-capped by Mike B in 2023, and loaded with NOS STR-415 Mesa 6L6 tubes.

I am only the second owner of this amp. The original owner owned it from 1983 to 2021. I have all the original documentation and paperwork including the purchase receipt, a letter from Randall Smith, owners manual, cancelled checks from purchase, packing list, maintenance information, etc. You will get the full folder of documentation (only some is shown in the pictures).

I sent the amp to Mike B for service in 2023. He recommended a recap. At the time only the "Illinois" caps that are made in China were available direct from Mesa. I decided to recap with the highest quality Sprague and F&T caps instead. Mike B told me exactly which ones to order, which I sent to him and he used for the recap. After the service the amp sounded even better than when it left: clearer, punchier, tighter bass, more gain, better touch sensitivity, and insane string clarity.

Here's Mike B's comments on the amp from the servicing:

  • Yes, it is a simul and was done here back in the day and it was made in to a "+" way back then too. When it was plussed, likely at No Charge, the pre board was replaced with a new one so it really became relatively a factory C+. It does have the X101 power trans.
  • Losing volume was the heater/filament connection on the V5 driver tube socket. Resoldered. Reverb tank is installed wrong in this Non-Mesa head cab. Reinstall and fix up all the iffy reverb cable connections that were causing intermittent volume and gain jumping. Cleaned all the pots, pulls pre tube pins and sockets. Several pots pretty far out of spec, removed and rebuilt with new elements. Replace and upgrade a few resistors as needed. EQ siders abit scratchy when cold, give them a bit of cleaning so as to not wash out the grease. Work totally great once warmed up. Suggest a full recap of all the original electrolytic caps.
Please note that the headshell is not original. At the time of purchase, the amp was in a rack enclosure and I wanted to put it in a proper headshell. Mesa was not selling headshells at this time due to Covid and supply chain issues, so I had one made by an online forum member with a good reputation. Perfect fit and looks great.

Please feel free to ask any questions before making a purchase—I’m happy to provide additional photos or information to help you decide. Once your order is placed, it cannot be canceled. Payment must be made within 24 hours, or the order will be automatically canceled.

All sales are final, as I’m a player and collector, not a music shop. Please do your research thoroughly before purchasing and consult with your significant other if needed to ensure you're ready to move forward.
