Hi, I recently picked up a 1990 Original CryBaby Wah pedal and I was trying to do the Lower range Mod but can not figure out which capacitor it is that I have to Change...There are 4 capacitors but this is not the standard layout board....I have included a picture to show what I mean....The board on the Left is like the layout they have now and the arrow is pointed to the capacitor I need to Change but can not figure out which capacitor it is on the board on the left.....I know it is not the two bigger ones it is one of the two littler ones.....If any can help me it would be greatly appreciated......Thanks

Try hitting up member XSSIVE. He used to do a lot of work/mods on many different Crybaby models. Worth a shot

Thanks...will have to figure out how to do that.

It's the middle one of the three caps in a row. A .015uf usually works good there but it's really guitar, amp and overall rig dependent and not quite one size fits all. With some rigs a .022uf works and others it's way too boomy and a .015uf is just right. In other cases just a switch from the stock .01uf to a .012uf makes a nice difference. You can also try a .017uf which is an oddball size but they're out there, as are .016uf and .018uf too for that matter. Even tiny changes like a .01uf to .012uf makes a difference unlike in other circuits where that wouldn't matter, it may be a subtle change but sometimes that's all that's needed. I usually socket that cap and test several values to find the right one for the desired sweep.

Thank you will have to do some experimenting now

I have some NOS Panasonic Orange drop .22 for the tone caps on the way along with .010 for the sweep cap will probably go with a 43K resistor (the one parallel with the inductor)....also have a bunch of stuff here to try out for different values and tones....Can't wait to dive in....Will try to do some sound clips if I can....Thanks guys for the help.
