2 x 12 cab or two 1x12 cabs

Ok...i'm going to change my setup in the near future. I play only at home in my little mancave area. I was thinking about maybe getting two 1x12 cabs vs a 2x12 cab. I was thinking that spreading the 1x12's apart may be a neat way to spread the sound a bit. Just thought it might be somewhat unique.
So....two 1x12's or one 2x12? I'm thinking of evh cabs because i'll more than likely be getting an EVH 50 watt head.

I'd say 1 2x12 so you get some more airspace in there. Even though its shared I think it's a much fuller sound.

Yeah, I see what you're saying....still curious how separating two 1x12's might sound though.

No....I guess a 2x12 would probably be my best option

212. But if you think there may be a chance you'll only want to take a single 112 out occasionally, it still may be worth having 2 112's. 8)

I say 2x 112
If ur 112 are good quality with high powered speakers
U'll get a better sound and you can stack them or put them side by side for widerspread
I have 1 thiele cab with ev 200 watt with a halfback mesa 112 loaded with eminence super v 150watts
It sounds better them my mesa 212 recto loaded with v30s

The 1x12 Friedman cubes have a HUGE sound and better than the 212 I had. I prefer 2 1x12s now, easier to move, stack, side by side, spread apart

I use two OS 1x12 Port City cabs. I have normal size 2x12's also. The 1x12's sound much better than a single 2x12. I have tried the side by side thing and they sound much better stacked. Not doing W/D or anything cool like that though.

Live I can't really tell the difference between the 1x12's and 2x12's to be fair.
