I had an '05 that Scott actually added the 3 gears to. I called to order a Quick Rod new, and he said he was doing this "new mod", and actually had a used one he'd sell me that he modded. This was before the 3 gears was a production thing. To this day, I still say that was THE loudest amp I've ever owned. And I've owned a lot of amps. I own a Competition now, and that '05 was a much different beast, (in a very good way). Gear 1 back then was much more Plexi.

It's kind of hard to say bud. I guess its most similar to gear 2 but with more chunk and a less brittle top end. Cheers!
