Any Les Paul that ends up looking like a Les Paul would appropriately be called "contrived looking"...what is it you mean by that?

I was referring to the color - not the shape. Most bursts blend naturally with colors that are more common in nature. Lemon, Cherry, Honey, etc... This just looks gimmicky to me. Just my opinion... Don't let it fuck up your day.

Actually, contrived coveys my opinion perfectly. I used 'gimmicky' as made-up slang, as no such word exists.

'Gimmick' would refer to shapes, not color. Explorer, V, Modern, and the Thunderbird are examples of gimmickry. These shapes were not designed to achieve a specific sound, but were marketing gimmicks borrowed from popular automotive designs. Doesn't bother me at all... I'm a huge fan of the V, Explorer, Rich Bich, and the Iceman. The LP body shape is as mainstream as it get in terms of typical guitar body shaping.

I don't like the way they did the binding and frett ends. Seems like another cost cutting measure so that unskilled workers can do it, there's no nibs over frett ends
