get an oversized 2x12 like mine. has a certain tight mid-low punch other 2x12s and 4x12s dont have all while im able to fit it in the front seat of my tiny escort. i honestly dont know why this style of cab isnt the industry standard, its really the best of both worlds

I haven't used a 412 live in about 15 years. Mainly used 212's or 112 combos, I don't play much of the brutalz though. I do in general prefer the sound of a 412 to a 212.

I generally run my horizontal 212 on its side. It looks a little funny, but does the job. Here is a picture my Fender 212 cab on its side with a head on top. Notice how the top speaker on the 212 is about at the same height as a 412.

HAHA. I used to load a 4x12 Marshall cab, two guitars and a Plexi head in the backseat of my escort. The muffler was always two inches from the ground!

I love the warmth and punch of Orange cabs but Mesa's just have this relentless low end that is great. 2 cents only :)

Oversized 2x12 will give you the thump. I like running mine verticle, otherwise if you feel it's stable enough set that sucker on your roadcase so it blasts in your ear. Orange gets my vote over the Mesa. But I'd look at Engl and Diezel too.

Hope you're having better luck with yours. Mine was a total beater and I dropped $3200 in one year on parts/labor. Great for lugging gear but now I'm a Honda guy lol.
