If they paired that listing with the luthier breakdown on that other blackmachine FF8, I doubt anyone would pay even $5k for it. That guitar was a mess.

Let’s debate about it on SS.org where the people there have superior intellect.... Just take it to the political section and watch the arrogance flow freely.

Cup of tea anyone?

I swear it's like every BM fanboy is the biggest douche out there..."PRS Private Stock Quilt"..WTF is that even supposed to mean?!

"He makes them alone and only produces maybe 1-2 guitars per year."

Why?

Oh, you're still whining about this?

BM is all hype exclusive to a weird corner of the internet that I don't understand.

It doesn't sound too unreasonable when you break it down to it being $3,125 per string.

wonder what this will sell for?

It won’t go for that.

The BMX one has been sitting there for around 6 months and started out at $18k, now he’s down to $12k and it’s still there, and that’s a newer build.

Warmoth has just as nicely figured 5A tops and nicer. Whats the allure for a guitar that has allen head screws sticking out the back and a non-recessed control cavity cover. Those are shortcuts cheap manufactures take.

You're bitching about the politics of a group of people who let free market dictate a price of a guitar?

Communism, how does it work? :aww:

Did I make it before someone said Warmoth can make them the same thing?

Oooops too late...

Hope those vintage strat owners don't catch on to the entire Warmoth secret...

Wish I had it saved -- it was posted to FB when the owner brought it in to a tech for some setup work. But the owner justifiably was not happy. I think it's floating around somewhere on the internet though -- I did see some discussion of it with the pics after the initial posting/deletion. It was this one, actually my favorite of the FF8s:

Literally took my favorite FF8 and turned it into a guitar I wouldn't even want.

What was wrong with it?

I brought two of my Mayones Duvells to a local tech for a setup. He does a lot of the work here in SF for touring musicians when they play in town. Said they were literally the best built guitars he's ever seen. $2800 each. Better than any guitar I've ever owned in terms of fit/finish/playability/stability. The necks never move. It blows my mind a $10K+ guitar has issues.

What are you and Mark Cameron smoking? Do you even know what you are talking about?

Wish I could remember, each picture had its own issue. I asked around to see if any friends have it saved -- I'm sure the post will turn up eventually.

Yea, Duvells aren't bad... I'm a bit shocked the guy said they were the best built guitars he'd ever seen. Like Mayones builds a nice guitar and I don't recall ever seeing a flaw in one, but I wouldn't say mine was even close to the best in my stable. Ken Lawrence, Hartung, Huber, Sugi > Mayones, overall.

As to not having flaws on a $10k+ guitar, well, one must remember that like the Duvells, blackmachines were $3k guitars prior to Periphery.
