Also check out the BFG modded Jet city...He's got some Killer sounds out of those amps on youtube..

Will do  Thanks

I have to second the Mark V. If I were looking for the sound you described, that's what I'd go for. For the HEAVY stuff, I still think they benefit from a boost in front, but they're just so versatile. Mesa are just a great company too.

Another vote for either the 100 or 50 watt EVH 5153. The Mark III is nice too, but I think the EVH really accomplishes your goals.

After the suggestions, do you have any ideas what you're leaning towards at this point?

Right now for price point, tones and my needs... Im leaning towards the 5153 100 watt. Couple other ideas in my mind but nothing solid yet.

Maybe the Marshall JVM410JS? Not as compressed as the 1st JVM. More open sounding. Great sounding amp.

A Dual Recifier has a solid, reliable tone, and can sound great for many styles. Only gets really compressed and fizzy with the gain high up. Otherwise it's nice and fat and dynamic under your fingers.

Very close to pulling the trigger on a 5153 100 watt.... just getting funds together here on my end

Thanks to you all again for opinions, input, advice. You all rock

Ted Nugent uses a 5150. I haven't played one but alot of people play em.

I have a Mk III Mk V and 20th xtc. the Bogner gets my Marshall tones. The Mk V is pretty good and versatile but I seem to play the Mk III more.

For gigs I think the 5150 III is a good choice

I have a '12 5153 en route. Hopefully I dig and it makes a great backup and home practice amp. = Seems like a lot of amp for the money.....and 8 preamp tubes... Christ

Thanks to you all for your opinions and input. You rock  Cheers

The Sig X & Deliverance are not as modern sounding as the Pittbull voice. But like said they do have their own voice. They are voiced to cut & very much reflect what your hands are doing. Very touch sensitive with definition. The Sig X has a lot of voicing options & can cover any range. The Deliverance being single channel is more raw & has more girth.... it also can cover any range - but you can not control the voicing as much as the Sig X. I have both here & in the last several years these are the only amps I use much that can do highgain of the about 20 that are here.

Thanks  Can't I just buy Channel 3 of the VH4 for $1000 :D

You still gotta make it down here to check out the VH4!

I would recommend trying a Mesa Royal Atlantic. The Lo/Hi channel kicks some serious butt. I know you're not interested in the clean channel, but the RA-100 has one of the best clean channels I have ever heard.

I agree Gian.. So want to hear the Vh4 and BE in person. I've heard that the Mesa RA is a good amp... not sure if it would be better/worse than a Mark IV...and both can be found in my price budget. Hope all is well .... sounds like you may have some storms rolling thru your area shortly. All the best

The winds on those storms were pretty crazy. Good thing it didn't get any worse since it was pretty dark outside. Everything is calm now and the sun is shining. Weird WI weather...

Anyways. I have had a Mesa Mark IV in the past as well. I don't know about better/worse, more like different. For the bands you listed, I would strongly recommend the Royal Atlantic at the price range you listed. The BE-100 replaced my Royal Atlantic, but I would pick up another Royal Atlantic in a heartbeat.

This video is what convinced me regarding the Royal Atlantic

Here's a good one.
