2x12 cabs - Mesa or EVH . Which would you choose?

Im going to be picking up a 2x12. Its going to be one of these two , but I just cant decide which. I can get them both for nearly identical prices and both seem to be identical in size . Which would you choose?

Im not really a "cab depends on the amp" guy. Ive had lots of cabs and lots of amps and in my experience , a great sounding cab will sound great no matter what head you throw on it. That being said , I am looking at picking up a MK V as well.

The EVH 50 watt head is. It sounds best with its matched 2x12...IMHO

My recto 212 sounds great with certain amps (Marks especially) and with others, it is very direct, shrill and 'cold' sounding with a boomy low end response.

I would go with the EVH if your using a EVH amp. I had a recto 2x12 cab I used with my EVH 100 watt before the EVH 2x12's came out. I liked it but I sold it once I got the EVH 2x12.

Which Mesa 2x12? I had a recto 2x12 with v30s and thought that it sounded horrible. Went with a Splawn 2x12. Nothing better.

I LOVE my EVH 2x12!! Sounds the bomb since I broke the speakers in some
Plus you can attach the head to it and do the cool tilt back thang too

Evh for rock/hard rock. Mesa for metal.

The Mesa Rect cab is forward firing, its not slanted back so the sound stays low, The Bogner and Rivera 2 x 12 cabs slant back and project the sound upward a bit and to me sounds alot better. I have a Rivera 2 x 12 cab that is great, its very well built too.

All Vin 30s sound sterile and brittle and horrible, Mesa is the only cab that puts a little bit of life in those speakers.

As for the OP's question, I'd do the EVH.

Don't remember. Just know I sold it as soon as the EVH 2x12 cabs were released.

if you are playing at band volumes, get the mesa. the evh breaks up too much at loud volumes
