Me and my friend did some quick tests some time ago, this was the result:

Order:
Bogner Uberschall+Ubercab
VHT SIG:X+Fryette Deliverance 412
Mesa Mark IV+Ubercab

Slightly lower volume in this one.

Order:
Bogner Uberschall+Ubercab
VHT SIG:X+Fryette Deliverance 412
Mesa Mark IV+CAA 412 (Greenbacks and V30s)

...
Orville Les Paul Standard 1997
Seymour Duncan 35th Anniversary JB/Jazz Set
and
Gibson Les Paul Studio 2001
EMG 81x & EMG 60x tuned to B standard

Tell me what you think :)

Oh and this one as a bonus:

Mesa Mark IV + Orange 212 + Gibson LP Studio with EMG 81x and 60x (tuned to D standard)

Damn I want the Sig and the uber. Was it Rev.2? They both are great

It was rev. green. Tbh, I didn't like the Sig:X it kinda lacked balls.

My vote is:
1 - Bogner
2 - Mesa
3 - VHT - Very distant 3rd.

The VHT was by far the thinnest sounding of the 3, and the Bogner has the fullest and deepest tone though it could use some brightness.
In the first vid the VHT sounds "fuzzy", not at all a good sound.

After hearing the vid I can easily say my Egnater Vengeance sounds great, and I'm playing through a pair of V30's that are in
a B52 ST6012 combo. I'm not using the ST6012 amp cause it's got some issue, so I'm using the V30's as a cab.
I'm thinking of removing the amp and turning the combo into a sealed back 2x12 cab.

Also, my B52 AT100 head through the V30's sounds a good deal better than the VHT, and sounds very much like the Mesa.
That AT100 head with a 4x12 slant cab only cost me about $900 in 2006.
Even though AT100 amps aren't built as well as the 3 in this comparo, tonally it can easily hang with this group.

I'm really surprised at how fuzzy and thin the VHT sounds.
It would be a better comparo to hear each head through the same cab. That way we're hearing the amp only.

Great vid, great info.

liked the uber better, but I think the VHT should sound at least as good in the same cab

cool vids ! bogner uberschall seems to be more muscular than the VHT Sig X... but I know the VHT cab are darker in voicing... maybe if you could do a swap in the cab between this two?

yup bogner uber didnt know its so dominating ! but its still comparing with Sig X ... wonder if the deliverance would be a better contender or the UL ...

Can't do that anymore, sold both of them.

UL>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>rest of Fryette amps.
Really, if you ever had to choose between UL and other Fryette amp, take the UL. I made a mistake that I took the Sig:X.

omg... didnt believe you sold your bogner ! thanks I think so too UL is the monster behind Fryettes

I'm not sure how you had the Mark IV dialed it but mine can be dialed in to sound a lot fuller, smoother and more full than that.

Really? VHT cabs are IMO known for being on the bright side if anything. The Deliverance not so much as the Fat Bottom, but they aren't that different in reality. Also, Bogner cabs ARE known for being dark if anything. VHT amps can be dark sounding pretty easy, but that's why they normally sound so good with their matching "brighter" cabs.

VHT's are a super dry amp, and they tend to sound alot like the person playing them. I have a pretty heavy hand, and tend to get a bit "more" out of some amps than others do. I do have an UL though, so that does make some difference. ;) I think all 3 amps are great work horse's, but when I had to sell one of my amps, I quickly kept the UL and sold the Rev. 1 Uber. I never even considered keeping the Bogner over the VHT. The Bogner was super easy to make sound "big," but still couldn't get as big as the VHT when it was being played hard/well. Plus my UL does things the Bogner can't do, like being played all night at max gain without needing a noise gate. On my UL you can hear every note on 6 string chords again with the gain maxed. If a sucky player plays through it, it makes me feel better about my mediocre playing when they sound like ass lol! Still I do have a Twin Jet en route even as I type this, so................ =D

Not to argue just debate. VHT amps are crushing. Do some tube swapping and tweaking.

I have never played an Ultralead but my Pitbull 100w will slay shit to the ground :)

I would however take a Rev.2 over my VHT any day. My favorite amp so far is the Rev. 2

Believe me I used to have a 212 0range ... back then it was a stock PCC212 orange cab with V30 which I thought it was sweet and nice... And I thought so orange cabs are tight bottom enough... But is rather harsh on the highs... Soon my desire sets in for an all out fatbottom cab FB 412... Amazingly well built a angled cab and hooked it up with my 50 CL... And it just sounded darker than the orange... Less harsh pronounced mids and tighter than the orange... Amazing but at some point I also reckoned the orange cab with the sweeter nature but it be ideal without the harsh top end....till my speakers are old I may want to cross a mix of v30 and p50es... Or if i ever gets bogner I get one uber cab but no idea what speakers are in... And still the PCC212 is a rear loaded thus the FB412 is a front load...

At some point I wonder the SIG X sounded weaker than the Uberschall perhaps gotta do with the power section when one is at 100 watt driving a twin kt88 where other is at 120watt quartered el34?.. I guess a deliverance would be a better contender ?
