Ive been playing for 25 yrs man and have owned 100s of amps i know what i like and this just cant do it so im selling or trading it no big deal its part of the game

You have owned 100's of amps and can't figure out how to get a tight metal sound?

Well im not doing it wrong at all im doing it how ive gotten my sound out of every other amp ive owned crunch channel of a 5150 with a modded sd1 no gain on sd1 level to taste. Mako dorado didnt need a boost... My modded butcher with boost was tight as all get out no flub at all.... My fja modded vintage modern with a boost was tight as a swollen sack... I know what tight is and how i like it. And agin no mater what ive tried.... And ive asked alot of peters owners for advise it just wont do the beastly tight metal i like... If i were playing doomy stuff or 90s alt rock or hard rock this amp would slay but for me it isnt it....

Not out of this amp it feels more like my sovtek mig100h just has a saggy low end. Again im not bashing anything just asking opinions on the jvm

Low end grit is a pretty popular thing these days in modern metal

If that's what you're concerned about, try biasing a bit colder based on the numbers on my site. Colder to a certain point still sounds fine and doesn't lose fullness/volume. Try 50mV per test point, for instance. Even 40mV per test point is probably fine.

If you doubled impedance based on what I say on that page: try it without the impedance doubled. Either way is fine. Doubling is a closer match for 6L6 but it's still safe without doubling the impedance.

I owned a JVM205H multiple times. Put some KT77's in it, hit it with a boost, and it'll get as heavy as anything out there. But, it's without a doubt, the noisiest amp I've ever owned. Hiss city. An NS-2 or Decimator is mandatory. Add an EQ in the loop and bump the lows a bit, and you're on your way.

This said, they're great amps.

Engl Fireball 100.

That was likely recorded with a Kemper... Maybe look into going that route? If you’ve had 100’s of tube amps and they’re not doing it for you then maybe digital is the answer. Also if you’ve not tried ENGL I’d look into their lineup. The JVM is far from the 1st amp I’d use for that tone.

ENGL amps are for people who really want a solid state, tight, loud amp but still want to say they play a tube amp.

Think it was a rev generator

Ive been wanting to try one of james peters amps for a long time so i took a chance.... It happens.... The build quality is absolutly amazing the tones it does get are probably some of the best tones ive heard for those genres of music. If i had the cash and the patients to wait for one to be built i would totally order a new one.... As i know it would be to notch...

I'm sure with an aggressive od the JVM would pull off modern metal fine, but for Kieth's tones or "modern metal" in general I'd go 6505/6505+, Fireball 100, Uber Rev blue clean boosted before I'd grab a JVM. If you want even tighter, like NO BOOST NEEDED, try an Engl Savage 120. It'll also handle modern metal well, but with more upper mid emphasis whereas the FB100 is a bit more low mid oriented.

Edit: Or just hold out for a MW Recto ;)
