4x12 Cab Center post suggestions on removal

So pulling apart the EVH to replace the grill cloth and noticed the center post is at an angle and not square for the back. The mounting base has been stuck to the baffle with adhesive and what looks to be a lot of nails, separate from the 4 mounting screws. I was going to take it off to make working with the baffle easier.
Does it even matter if it's flush as the EVH doesn't screw the center of the back on to the post anyway?

Any tips on how to fix this thing? not sure how I'm getting the base of the baffle without damage to one or the other.

As long as it's tight to the back, screwing the back on should hold it in place. You don't really benefit much from screwing it into the center of the back plate, but if it isn't tight it could actually pull it apart. Just make sure it's tight and leave it be.

Otherwise I suggest a big hammer.

It never gave me a rattle. Just wondering if it could affect the sound in anyway. I wouldn't say the cab is boomy or thin so it's probably OK.

Fucking cab corner protectors got me. I couldn’t figure out why the baffle wouldn’t slide out. It was being held really steady on one side at the bottom edge even though it would pivot. So I use the rubber mallet to finally get it to break free and then see a screw sticking inward from the corner protectors, and because it had screwed into the baffle, had totally jacked up the corner because I hammered it free by force.
EVH can also suck a dick on using a staple every quarter to half inch on all four sides.
