500k or 250k pots in my ESP Eclipse?

I took the EMG's out of my ESP Eclipse Standard and put in a set of Duncan hot rodded humbuckers, Does anyone have any input on the difference between 500K pots or 250k pots, I know the 250's are less bright and may be better due to the ebony fretboard and thinner body style than a Les Paul. but do they rob tone and punch? also are CTS pots the way to go or are there better ones available? I am also thinking of switching to a sprague orange drop cap for the tone pot? I play heavy/ melodic stuff through a Boogie Dual Recto stack with modern gain settings. Thanks for any input you may have to share.
 
250k are darker than 500k. That's pretty much all there is to it. As far as caps go, brand/type of cap doesn't make a huge difference in my experience. It's the value of the cap that matters. I'm sure others may disagree.
 
500k would be better with humbucker , i prefere Bournes or Gotoh (now) rather than CTS . if you have tone pot you can t go wrong on the high end .
