Yeah, yeah, pretty lazy Ken Burns style video, lol, but it's only the second video I've ever bothered to make as I don't really have the gear or patience for that stuff. Such a simple, quick way to share a clip though.

Anyway, channel THREE of the 50 watter here.

Sounds nice, can that tone also be achieved by the 5150 III 100 watt. How is the over all quality of the 50 watt,I know its made overseas.

The amp is made in vietnam. What the hell is Edward thinking,oh I know,money......

Thanks, all!!

I believe these are made in Mehico now. The Vietnam experiment did not last very long from what I've read. Pretty sure mine says Mexico on the back...though I'd have to double check later. Not that MIM is some gold standard, lol!

As for the brown sound label...I suppose I could've just called this "Channel Three Crunch" because ultimately, that's what it is. I just felt this was a nice VH-ish tone for an amp I mostly bought for other things, especially leads.

Sounds great. What EQ settings did you use, if you don't mind me asking...?

My bad. I listed the settings at the end so I could continue to be kinda lazy with my YT page (seldom check in there, let alone stay on top of comments)! Thing about the settings, I have the amp set up for tracking, and in particular, through my pair of mics and cab, will probably sound different in everyone elses room (goes w/o saying). Like at first, I was only using the e906 on the cab and it was a little zingy, then I added an M421 off axis right beside that mic and whoa, totally changed the end result, etc.

Close enough for me! Doesn't have the sizzle and compression that a marshall does on 10 and sounding like it is blowing up BUT you found the key which is to lower the gain on a very high gain amp. I thought channel 2 was supposed to be the ticket for this sound but i like your approach here, super high gain (which is what the red channel sounds like to me) but gain rolled back to 9 pm which is squat for that channel. The rest is the pup pushing it. Personally, I really like it. A little more polished than the original marshalls but honestly, the more i hear this amp in action from people who know how to use it, the more i am intrigued. For one, the clean channel pumped all the way up sounds like that early AC DC and responds the dynamics the same way. If you listen to those early records, Angus sounds like he is getting most of his gain from how hard he hits the strings and maybe a boost of some type for his leads. the rest of the time the crunch chords sound way cleaner to me. I'm thinking made in vietnam or made in mehico, who gives a $hit.. circuit is a circuit and as long as they are using decent quality parts. Take a poll as to what people will find more important, a very affordable amp or made in america and supporting american pride. I think the answer is clear without asking any questions!

Oh! and i def need a 421.. love the combo sound there.

I know, what an evil bastard. What was he thinking in providing the public with a killer amp at an unbelievable value??

Sounds great. One thing about a lot of the 50 watt sound clips/videos is that the EQ is sat close to noon and gets killer tones.

Sounds great!! Almost exactly where I set my 50w on channel 3. Using the clean and 3rd channel mostly.

I just found out from EVH(Fender)that the 50 watts are now made in mexico vs vietman. They are made in the same plant as the 100 watts are made. Can you achieve the same type of sound using the 100 watt 5150 III.
