60w 5150 2x12 vs 60w TSL 2x12

Right now I've got a TSL 602 and it's not too bad. Sounds a lot better since I cleaned the pots and I'm thinking about throwing some V30's in it. I wouldn't mind swapping it for a 5150 though. I like the high gain that 5150's have to offer, but I also like a nice clean channel. I've heard for years that the peavey's are 1 trick poney's and their clean's suck. Would something like a ge-7 help with that? I'm also buying a Mesa rectifier next month. Which might compliment that better? The 5150 or TSL?

5150 212 combo cleans...

It really depends on your pickups, I think. But you can get some pretty nice clean tones out of it. If you want to add effects, the loop BLOWS, although the loop on mine may be messed up, so idk. The rhythm channel for your main distortion and lead channel for cleans, and you are set...at least I am...

I'll be using either a RKII or Roadster. One of those w/ 5150 in stereo sound rad? I've heard a roadster w/ mark iv in stereo and that was bitchin'

Not a big fan of the 5150, particularly the combo.

The TSL has nice cleans, a good loop, and more flexibility than the 5150 too.

I have a 5150 II halfstack and I get some pretty nice cleans, I use the GE-7 as a solo boost, works well with the amp.

For cleans, I turn the clean channel lower than heavy crunch tones, disengage the crunch, roll back the volume and you're half way there. I use a Boss CS-3 which -really- sparkles up the clean tones, it's actually pretty nice.

I have no experience with the combos, why not look into a 5150/6505 head used if you're getting a Mesa Dual? A II/+ if you're worried about cleans, they're nicer and the clean/crunch is foot switchable.

The 5150 is really not a one trick pony, it's mainly used for high gain modern metal, that's true, and that's what it does best. But it can do all kinda of tones in my opinion, I play lots of different styles of music and I'm more than happy with the tones I get with my 5150 II.

Have a look at the 6505+ 112. I think I heard they improved on a few of the 6505/5150 212 features like the loop.

Mesa Cleans are the shit. I read they put the Lonestar cleans on the Roadking II.

Ah, if you're using them in sterio get a 5150/6505 head. If your'e getting the Mesa as a head that is.

Ya I read that about the Road King II cleans also, that they're the Lonestar cleans. Plus the RKII and Mark V both have Lonestar reverb too I read somewhere. But the Roadster cleans are pretty much (if not exacty) the same as the RKII cleans. Can't go wrong with a Mesa. Fantastic cleans, Fantastic gain. I think I should go fuck a mesa now since I seem to be on it's nuts pretty bad lol

Yeah, and if you've got a switching system you can set up two flavors of Marshall crunch, and blend those with the Roadsters mid and high gain tones. I think you'll have more than enough gain for anything you'll need between the two. The nice thing about two amp setups is that because it fills out more space sonically, you can get better heavy tones with less saturation, even at lower volumes. Then there's the clean tones, especially with some stereo fx adding a little swirl and movement between the two amps.

Ok, could I set it up in stereo with a marshall combo and mesa 1/2 stack? secondly, what would I need to set it up in stereo. I'm new to setting stuff up stereo or rack effects. so please go all out on your explanations. thanks.
