6505+

Hey - before you give up let me try to post a soundcloud clip to see if it is maybe not part of this upgrade we just went through?

I don't get it. I've tried private (which is what I've always done), public, embed, share/copy/paste. Nothing.

OK. Putting yours and mine next each other so I can see the see the differences. I'm removing the last bracket on mine at [/MEDIA so I can see it.

OK. That didn't work. You have to quote it to see it.

So off the top you can see that my user name on Soundcloud is the same as here. Yours says 'user-549632051'. Is that who you are there? Wondering why it says 'user'. If you have one of your other clips you've done in the past - if you can grab it and put in here next to these we can look for what is different.

OK.

Getting closer.

So now when I go to your post and quote it I see the link you are trying to put in. Within that it had "%2F" or something in between your 'user number' and slash /6505a. So removed the 2F and replaced the % with a / and I got the below. If I click on your name I see 1 clip. Drop B Splawn something something but no other clips so something is up. Are you logged in when you try to upload the 6505 clip?

Yep.

Because when I copy your link it looks just like your link above. So log in to Soundcloud as you and then upload clip. If you are logged in it should look like this:

I also picked up a 6505+ head a few months ago pretty cheap. Cheap enough that I would consider myself a dumbass if I didn’t get it. It had been 10 years since I had one and as soon as I plugged in I had a ear to ear grin. It’s just a killer amp. I haven’t even bothered to check the bias or clean the amp like I do with ever other amp I get. It works. It sounds killer. Done. Haha!

Right...hahaha! I'm in the exact place...usually first thing I do is pull the chassis, clean, bias, look over caps and such. Haven't even peeked in this one, too busy playing it.

I had a 6505 last year and while awesome, it was unusable without a boost for me. I had to keep the gain on the lead ch between 1-3 at the most or it was just way to compressed/saturated/undefined. This 6505+ is way tighter and the gain more usable through it's range. I'm playing with lead ch gain at 5.5 unboosted and it's tight and fast. Feels good under the fingers. I can almost get the same low mid evilness that the 6505 too, not exactly that level but damn close.
