Tried the head over the weekend!

Lots of tone for a reasonable price!

There gonna sell allot of these!

Funny that through the years several amp builder's / modder's have said that 5150's sound like crap with EL34's. Now that this myth seems to be over, wonder how hard it would be to mod a 5150 to 6534 spec?

A tech I know up in Montreal told me he modded a 5150 for EL34's for a client and he said he thought it sounded aweful bad... So I supposed there is some other preamp changes that possibly need to go down too to make it all come together...

Well, for one, EL34's tend to run hotter than 6L6's. Also, I'm sure the 6534 has a different transformer, in addition to preamp changes.

Any one of you guys have a pic of the footswitch? Is it the same as the 6505+?

I`m wondering cause i need to order a cable to have my RG-16 switch it.

Thanks,

Chris

Yep, I believe it is the exact same footswitch as the 6505+.

Exactly why I asked the question. Do you have a schematic for the 6534?

Thanks man, just got a confirmation from Ron Minelli (RJM Music) also confirming this.

Anybody have an RJM cable for a 6505+ for sale?

Chris

First off, good luck with your surgeries Mosh. Get well soon and keep your chin up! Can the 6534 get a nice thick juicy tone ala Bogner XTC or evh 5153? Do you guys think it could do classic rock well or is it aimed solely at metal? Thanks! Oh yeah, what speakers you guys digging with it?

Get better Giles so you can lay something down with this amp, all these Dear Abby reviews are getting us nowhere!

Geez. It's not like these things are pricey. If it's that important to you, man up and buy the thing from musicians friend. Play it for 44 days and return it. You're out $40 in shipping. That way you don't have to rely on "Dear Abby" reviews or compressed/shitty sounding youtube clips.

I loves me the Giles clips with his reviews, the boy can throw down and love his playing cause he really brings an amp out

Plus amp shipping is a hobby I am not very interested in

I get a real nice, thick juicy tone from mine on the lead channel. Is it as thick as a Bogner? Probably not, but what is? ;) It can definitely do real nice classic rock as well as clean tones. I only have all V30 and V30/H30 cabs and I like mine best with my Bogner 4x12 straight w/ the V30/H30 combo. Supposedly there is some new Peavey cab that is voiced for this head but I have yet to see it or hear it.

I have really grown to despise/hate shipping lately, one of the prime deterrents for me not to engage in trend chasing/bandwagoneering these days.
