Gotta love those tubes! Sounds great Jerry!

They've become my favorite tube. Some of the best amps I've had had them as the power section.

Yeah

I wonder if many of those EL84 Amps would be better with 6V6s for better cleans AND better Crunch.

Nice Work !

6V6's have the control, tightness and bottom of a 6L6, and hair and vibe of a EL34. They have been exclusively used in cleanish voiced amps (Fender, etc) That they are not known as well to the hard rock crowd. Also they are lower output as well. But put a amp with a quad up against a 50 watt 2 bottle amp, they will own it...... in tone and overall sonic bliss:)

I hate all JJ tubes, except for the 6V6-S they make, because it is really not a 6V6 and you can run very high voltages and bias the crap out of them and they take it and sound great.

I have a 20 watt Peters with 6V6s, and it is killer, and plenty loud. Great tubes...Wonder if they will work in my 5150 III mini...

IMHO, 6V6s absolutely kill EL84s.

IMO, they're both great. The Bogner Duende I recently jammed was one super inspiring and surprisingly powerful little amp with 6V6s. But then on the other end, how can you not love the harmonic chime of some good 84s?

I like 6v6 a lot, but sometimes they seem a little squishy when you drive them. I did play one of the 6v6 Orange Rockerverbs and it had a ton of gain and held it's clarity. Should have bought it.

Totally in love with my 6V6 powered Goldfinger. I'm a believer.

I've got Jerry's combo version of this amp, it RIPS!

It's just got that singing bouncy old school pissed off rock combo voicing. I love Zepp's BBC recordings, the Vox channels there, the Dumbly channel is just sweet sustaining blues solos for days...

yep. the head in that video is exactly the same as your combo, except the vox channel has no MV. everythng else is dead on same spec.

I think the 6v6 Rockerverbs definitely sound better than the MKII with EL34s.
