I have an Ibanez RG752WMFX-OL. mahogany with a wenge veneer, and maple neck & fretboard. I have a Dimarzio paf in the neck and a tone zone 7 in the bridge. They sound good, but i'm ready to try something else.
I play mostly classic metal, classic rock type stuff. Not really into modern metal or 'djent' stuff. i normally like alnico 5, 11-14k range for bridge, with that beefed up PAF flavor when i'm playing my 6 string.
what do you 7 string players like? i have no idea whats all out there these days with all the newer boutique companies.
also, does anyone make a humbucker sized p-90 for 7 strings yet? i'm fan of those in the neck with a humbucker in the bridge.

I use Dimarzio Blaze Custom (discontinued) or a Super Distortion 7 in the bridge. Blaze Neck or Air Norton 7 in the neck.

I tried some Bare Knuckle 7s and did not like them one bit.

What amps are you using? I have a few 7 string pickups for sale. I might be able to help.

Bare Knuckle makes humbucker-sized P90s for 7-strings. I haven’t tried them yet.

I have some 8-string Mules that sound pretty good. The Dimarzio Air Norton 7 in the bridge is a pretty beefy, moderate output humbucker. I tend to prefer Duncans like the ‘59, Custom, and Distortion. I’ve had 7s with all of those.

Blaze Custom is an awesome 7 string pickup! I believe you can still get them from Dimarzio or Banjomikez via custom order.

I was going to suggest Dimarzio PAF's....for shits and giggles, try throwing your current PAF from the neck in the bridge position and see what you think. I recently put them in a Jackson I've had kicking around for years and very much dig it. I'm actually thinking of ripping the Evolution's out of my JEM and putting PAF's in there. It's been years since I had a JEM with PAF's, but my Jackson reminded me of why I dug them so much.
