I thought I'd never do it again but my 71' is going back to Dave.

It's packed for the apocalypse right now though. Double boxed, quad bubble wrapped and 2'' of industrial strength foam all around I'd love to see USPS make a dent.

Now here's the kick.

Dave promised me 7 working days. I bet y'all he'll do it in that time frame too. Countdown starts when it arrives in N. Hollywood (USPS says this Thursday).

Fat switch is overated and c45 is way better
Actually I have the actual BE and not a modded amp so can't make the decision for you....but that said I think friedman states the fat may be good for single coils but with my humbucker guitars I just feel the fat make things feel and sound bloated ymmv!

I'm not just going with the fat.

I'm getting the following:

BE/HBE Footswitch
Simple Clean w/Bright Switch
Voicing Switch
Fat

I'm also getting Dave to make it a tad more aggressive as well. It sounds great but I need to have a clean channel at this point and although it cleans up nicely when I roll down the volume, the added versatility is a nice thing.

I like stock Strats too so the fat will be a nice addition down the line.

Dave said a week. I said take two but he's adamant about it never taking longer than that again. I didn't want to beat the guy into the ground every time we discussed the nine month wait-it's finished. But he has been very apologetic each time we've spoken about it.

Don't know. The amp is getting kinda crowded as is and I really think the simple with the 3 way bright switch will work out nicely for me. I don't play cleanly a lot other than when I'm messing with a Fender/Vox.

That's what I told him. I can't imagine it sounding much better than it already does, though a clean would be a nice option. Hope you get it back soon and it rocks

I can't either but these options are really cool to have.

Besides, that Clean option is needed when we jam.

Why not get the dual footswitchable masters and gains? I found that more useful then the simple clean but then again I don't often use Chrystal cleans. I agree that the fat isn't needed with humbuckers, it just makes it flubby as the amp is bass heavy as is. 7 day return will be a record. Is Dave doing work himself or is it subbed out?

BTW you can save yourself & amp alot of shipping trouble with a roadcase.
