Has anyone ever used 8 inch guitar speakers?

can they sound big enough for downtuned modern metal?

I have been toying with the Idea of a wet/dry or a wet/dry/wet for my live rig. I want to keep the rig as small as humanly possible.

I am currently using a port city 2x12OS for the dry.
I have been considering two ported 1x8's or two 1x10's from Freda.

I want to load the cabs with the 50 watt tone tubby hemp cone 8 inch speakers and feed them from my mesa boogie 50/50.

I have never played any size speaker other than 12 or 15. can 8's handle down-tuned metal for the wet side. do I NEED 10's rather than 8's?

or since they will be the wet side will the girth coming from the 12's be enough?

Bogner uses 8s for their wet. they sound huge. You don't need a lot for wet.

yes it will sound fine. just make sure u run you effects 100% wet. u dont want any dry signal for speakers that small

awesome guys thank you, that's what I was hoping to hear

out of curiosity why no dry signal out of them based on size?
