MURDERATOR
Did a little work on my 85 Kramer 400st. Installed a jb which actually sounds pretty good…. Anyway got it cleaned, frets polished up and neck adjusted. Put a set of eb .11’s on it just to try. Action is low and greasy. Fretboard has some rough patches but it was dry as a bone for a long time. Feels really good and plays nicely. Needs a nut replacement though. Because this has a non fine tuner floyd and no locking nut- what would you guys recommend for a replacement nut? LSR? Tusq? Standard bone or metal? Thanks 🙏

👍 it’s just a Floyd bridge. Basically the floyd version of a standard fender bridge if that makes sense… it does dive bomb like a champ though….

Graphite nut would be perfect. With it having this kinda bridge on it I just wonder if a graphite nut or an lsr would be better. The grovers are fine so no need to swap them for lockers…unless I find a good deal on some….

It sounds great with the jb and I hate jb’s. And it plays and sounds good as well. I think with the nut replaced and some new tuners…nice guitar though. The striker 100 I have traded to my buddy for his table saw. Next project will be the hondo…. It definitely needs tuners…and frets… those frets are tiny….
