Has anyone seen a good comparison vid of the new 90s Dual Rec Reissue vs. the regular old Multiwatts or even the regular Dual Rectifiers of the 2000s/2010s?

Can find a used regular Dual Rec for $1500s area...is the 90s Dual Rec Reissue really worth it for almost 1000 - 1200 more on the used market?

They sound different but both sound like rectos. Reissue is very tight with more mids. MW is not as tight, little more scooped - big lows and highs. Had both at the same time and changed my mind daily about which I preferred

Thanks so much for this, for Sykes type tone would Multiwatt get close enough?

I have a 90's DR and a DRMW and this post is absolutely spot on. 90's DR is a bit tighter and has a more balanced post-EQ profile. DR Multi Watt is looser and more scooped.

I personally like the 90's DR more but just by a hair, and that's just personal preference. I could easily see somebody preferring the Multi Watt.

So fair to say with some knob tweaking and maybe an EQ in FX Loop or Post, you can get close enough?

If you'd consider doing a comparison vid, i'd be super greatful! but no pressure of course

If you started with a MW, you could get close to the 90's Recto if you had a pre-EQ to cut out some low bass frequencies at the input and a post EQ to smooth out some of MW's harshest highs and boomiest lows, yeah.

Beautiful, thanks, will save me a ton of money given how cheap the MWs are!

Have a clip coming for you, but it’s not much. Old comparison I found. Uploading now

Dude, you're the best, thank you so much!

Not to mention, there's literally one vid on all of YT comparing the two and its pretty bad lol...hopefully this clip gets you some mileage!

Ha well this won’t be much help I don’t think. I do have some in depth A/B comparison recordings but it would take a while to put a finished product together

All good, the video above was great and super helpful. If you do decide to put the bigger comparison vid together, that would be killer, i'll keep an eye out on your YT channel!

Also I prefer the Multiwatt way more than the other two based on that vid, so it was definitely helpful hah!
