a BIG thanks...to Jerry Dyer!!!

just wanted to post a "thank you" to Jerry from Surreal Amps for some mod work that i had him do to one of my amps...it's a Ceriatone Plexi50 ptp amp that i got in a "trade" off this forum,a while back,and sent off to Mark Abrahamian(aka "rockstah" from metroamps forum) to have his "M5" mod done to the amp.i loved the tone of the mod,but wanted to get a couple extra features on it.Jerry had helped me out with something in the past,so in my gratitude,i sent my Ceriatone amp to him to have a "bright" switch & "depth" switch added,actually both on push-pull pots.since the amp was there,i had him add a "jose" mod(also on a switchable push-pull pot) to the amp because i wanted the extra versatility out of this amp PLUS i was curious to see how his "jose" mod came out....anyways,got the amp back,in about a week,and it KICKASS now! the "bright" mod,when activated,gives me significantly more top-end and bite,when i want it(which i love) and the "depth" knob gives me much greater control in dialing-in more/less low-end girth...now,also having Dave Friedman & Mark Cameron "jose" mods on two other amps of mine,i can say that Jerry's version of the famed "jose" mod came out great and easily holds it's own compared to my other amps ...so i just wanted to give a very positive review on my experience with Jerry Dyer at Surreal Amplification and i DEFINATELY recommend him to anyone looking to get some repairs,alterations or mod work done to their amp..............

jerry is a great guy. i will have one of his amps one day. with the price+features+tones of his amps, i really can't believe they have not went through this forum like a brush fire. i see his business really taking off soon.

glad you like it.the mod is basically a hot-rodded 2204 tone,but tweaked for that early VH tone...BUT it does all the 70's classic rock/hard rock & some early 80's metal tones REAL well...now,with the "jose" mod from Surreal Amps,she's even better! covers even more ground yummy!

actually,you can...pan your computer speaker to the LEFT only,that's the orig 100% "dry" recording...i found this out because i asked Mark Abrahamian the same question when he first sent me this clip of my amp
