This S2 is a damn fine player! I really didn't have high expectations on bonding with it when I initially bought it. I just thought for $700 shipped, I'd give it a shot and put it back on the block if necessary. I was pleasantly surprised by the way it played and how nice it sounds. I've had PRS SE's in the past, and IMO, these S2's play and sound better...closer to their core guitars. The neck feels great and the fretwork is very good. The locking tuners are similar to the Phase II's and stay in tune very well. And, I'm really digging the coil tap. The pickups seem alright, so I probably won't change them out. Overall, a great purchase and addition to my other guitars.
I picked this up just over a month ago from the EBMM classifieds:

This particular Reflex is somewhat unique due to the fact that it's the only (regular) Reflex that i've ever seen that came with a Birdseye Maple neck. It was shipped in the original box it came in and has a "EBMM EMPLOYEE GUITAR" sticker on it, which is the reason it came with the neck...as the employee was able to order it that way...or so I've been told. Also, the original owner replaced the bent saddles for solid, which I was alright with. Again, I was on the fence about purchasing this particular guitar as well, just because I'm not really into chambered bodies. But, it seemed like a great buy at $1K shipped so I gave in. When it arrived, it was in excellent shape for a 2010, with no wear to speak of....a total case queen. First thing I noticed was how great of a neck it had....probably the best feeling Music Man neck I've ever played, and I've had a couple. It's got more meat than any other Music Man neck that I know of, but not overly fat...very comfortable. I also liked the bigger body in contrast to the similarly shaped Axis. It didn't take long for me to realize that the wimpy DiMarizo's were going to have to go. They weren't horrible, but just lacked balls. So, I replaced them with some Duncans....SH-14 Custom 5 in the bridge and SH-3 Stag Mag in the neck....HUGE IMPROVEMENT! This thing fucking slays! It's probably the best Music Man model that I've ever played...definitely my favorite.
Anyhow, these guitars turned out to be some great purchases! Couldn't be happier with them!
