A few things I notice driving around Europe

I was in Europe the last week or so. I rented a car and cruised around Barvaria, Austria and Italy. Here are a few observations
1. The roads are nearly perfect. Not a pothole to be seen. In each country it was the same.
2. No trash on the side of the roads. Both freeways and side roads free of garbage
3. No billboards
4. Almost no fast food restaurants. I saw 1 Burger King and 3 McDonald’s in 7 days.
5. Roundabouts just work. Period!
6. I didn’t see any run down houses. You know the kind, piles of shit everywhere. We were mostly in small towns, not major cities.

I can’t help but think how trashy US roads are. Pot holes and garbage everywhere. What the fuck?

Germany is a nation the size of Wisconsin meanwhile Texas is as big as a large portion of western Europe. Road maintenance and trash service are a little more complicated in that situation.

1 ton cars and lots of taxes. 🤷‍♀️
In Europe average (middle class) people don't own cars. It is ridiculously expensive. Your plates are permanent but you pay quarterly for taxes and registration. I've been there twice, both times with people who are not broke ass losers. None of them had cars. Gas is 3 times as expensive. Everyone takes the trains.

I know it's crazy, have been a number of times. Not since end of Covid, though. So can't say recently. Japan is super crazy as well when it comes to costs and regulations. I think we spent about $2-3/mile to drive the last time between fuel/tolls/rental/fees/licensing.

Fair point, but the US has just as much if not more taxation. We just spend all our money on the military. Regarding EU, I have a feeling they just don’t have a culture of littering. No way they could keep every square inch of road clean otherwise
They litter in Italy. There's rubbish on the side of the road last time I was there.

Not even close to true.
On paper Germany has a higher tax rate but Dude we are texted to death. Income, property, sales tax, they tax you when you buy your car and each year thereafter. They tax you to catch a fish. They even tax you when you die. We get nickel and dimed with taxes. I am not complaining…no I guess I am. I don’t have an issue with the taxes I pay as much as how it’s spent. We waste more tax dollars. I hope that is changing with this president.

I don't deny we are dramatically over taxed, but not even close to how bad it is in almost all of western Europe. As I said, they pay taxes on their autos every 3 months. Their gas tax is triple ours and ours is already higher than hell. Their income tax is way more than ours. Their consumption tax. On and on and on.

I have an issue with the taxes I pay. How they waste it is just an extra slap in the face afterwards. I pay more in federal income tax than a lot of people make in a year and dude, I am very far from rich.

High-trust, high native homogenous population areas help to create and maintain this.

for now.

in other parts of western Europe, there are growing enclaves of invaders while indigenous Europeans (and Japanese) populations decrease setting the stage for future civil wars that have a high probability of a future western Europe dominated and controlled by Islam.
