Just played a bit of rhythm on the vintage low and high settings. I used a Les Paul with PAF type low output pickups.
All EQ set to 12:00 except the presence is at 2:00...used a Nova System in the amps loop.

00:00 - 00:50 - vintage low setting
00:50 - to End - vintage high seting (little detune effect turned on)

Nice! Taking me back to my childhood with this Kiss riffs :) That sounds really good, especially for a combo - nice low end and lotsa chunk.

son of a bitch the link doesn't work for me. Just drops me at mp3lizard main page

It's a loud ballsy combo, it barks!
This was with low output vintage style humbuckers...with my wolfgang's high output pickups it's almost in metal territory on the vintage high setting.

It has a 70's Marshall type of gain and tone on the vintage low setting...the vintage high setting adds more gain and sparkle.

Ya it's hard to capture 'volume' in a clip...my neighbor was knocking on my basement window, he said he could hear it chugging in his house, he liked it. :D

Yup ;)

If you're looking for an old Marshall in a combo format that really cranks up this may be it.
I really dig the chunky voicing. I hear if you change out the 6L6 tubes for EL34 tubes it gets even closer.

Sounds great. Dig the Old Kiss riffs and the Tonic riff sounds cool too. I have come to appreciate the lower gain stuff where you can hear the real tone of a tube amp instead of just fuzzy preamp gain.

Me to!

I've always really liked the mid gain tones like old VH, Stone Temple Pilots, Queen, King's X....

Sounds very cool. I may have to get one of those to go along with my Lonestar. :D

Try one out...pretty amazing the girth and biggness in sound this combo has.
It gets a nice gain tone that I couldn't get from the Lonestar 2x12 combo that I used to own.

Sounds great!

Adam trading a Marshall for a Mesa........................wow.

I'm running my Lonestar into a Legacy 4x12 loaded with Greenbacks. Do you think the Electra Dyne and Lonestar will work together or do think the Electra Dyne replaces the Lonestar?

The Marshall JTM combo wasn't doing it for me...it had a great clean tone, but the gain wasn't what I was looking for.

I traded a Marshall for an amp made by Mesa that is more of a Marshall than the Marshall that I had. :D

Before I took the Electra Dyne home I played it for a good while side by side with a Marshall Vintage Modern combo cranked up in a back room. The Mesa was better in every way IMO...better build quality and tone.

If you love the clean tone on the Lonestar and have to have it keep it, the Electra Dyne won't get that type of clean.
But the Electra Dyne does have a great clean tone of it's own, but because it's basically a single channel amp, you need to roll back on the guitar's volume to get it, which I'm used to.

I've got several amps with good clean tones. Also, great clean tones are NOT a must have for me. Hmmm...maybe I should be replacing the Lonestar with the Electra Dyne. The issue I have with the Lonestar is that the gain channel is "almost there...but not exactly."

The Electra Dyne is right there ...try it out.

Be good if you could wait for used Electra Dyne's to be around and you could probably do a swap.

In the words of Paul Stanley......"This one's called.....PARASITE!"
Great song choice bro.
