I loved them both but I admit I was a Randy freak first and learned so much more from him than EVH...

It's too bad there isn't more live footage of him out there. But I got to see him once, so Im happy.

It really is too bad...I wish I could've seen him when I was 17 back in the day. Thats a great cover of Sails of Charon BTW!
I was really thinking about doing a cover of that since there is a singer here I know that would be perfect for that song.

I had only been playing guitar about a year (just turned 15) when I got to see him. Worked my way right up front. Blown away is an understatement! Between Randy and Uli, not much interest in VH

Thanks for checking out the vid. :) You should do the tune, love to hear it. I don't play it the same way Uli does, I have to cheat alot.  That old Scorps stuff is just so cool.

Man I missed his very last show in Knoxville because my parents wouldn't let me take the night off from work...it was my first High School job, K-Mart no less. They gave me the "oh you can see him next time" speech. Glad I have awesome parents or I might be a just little bitter...lol.

Little off topic but FUCK! Mr. Head u sound fantastic. Really diggin ur myspace vids. You nailed hot for teacher, tooth and nail, and crying in the rain. :worship: Also really like the enough is enough, man that singer sounds like geoff tate to me. U can really hear ur influences on that one, Randy, Lynch and so on. Reminds me of the stuff I grew up listening to. How old were u in the 90-92 stuff? Anyway loved it! I am into heavier shit nowadays but this stuff I still love.

I saw George play with his Judas Priest tribute band and he is truly a badass. Loved the vid Admiral

This soundcheck video is great and Rhoads had unbelievably cool tone live. This video proves it. That lead tone is blistering and perfectly accentuates Randy's percussive, right hand picking attack.

And oh yeah, Van Halens early tone rules too.

Oh man that would have been a tough one. I was in 7th grade and wanted to see KISS really bad. A friend had older brothers and I had a ride/ ticket and everything. Just couldn't quite talk my parents into it. He came back to school with some cool pics of the show a couple days later :gethim: They probably felt bad and let me see Ozzy. They new I was really into it I guess.

The first couple of noodlings really shows how nice and fat the tone was...probably just the amp there. The last little fill that he does sounds to me like he had the MXR on. Had more bite and the Randy signature tone was there!

Hey thanks man. We had alot of fun back then. I was 24 in 90. We are all still in touch which is pretty cool. Getting ready to do another project with the singer, more blues/ classic rock. He can still sing great.
