Hey guys!

My two amps right now are a Mesa Roadster and Bogner Uberschall.

I love them, but I want something with some more mids. I find that the best settings on my amps are fairly scooped, even when pushing the mids higher. I recently played a Mesa Mark IV, and it reminded me all about what mid range is

What's an amp that can bring a good modern high gain tone without the mid scoop?

Or should I just completely rework the dialing of my amps?

Eric

Mark IV/Mark V.

VHT/Fryette Ultra Lead has more mids than a guy could ever use while maintaing the brootz. Also the Mark V does a great job.

My thread count is getting pretty high these last few days

It's my last day off for a while...so you guys won't be hearing much from me ;)

have you tried your amps through a V30 loaded cab?
if so and you're still not happy then i'd suggest some kind of marshall lol

Framus Cobra with the notch switch off
VHT Pittbull with the 6 band EQ
Mark series Mesa with the 5 band EQ

No I mean you've basically started the same thread 5 times in 2 weeks. The same amps get mentioned every time.

You're probably right...

It's a sickness...what can I say...talking about the same stuff over and over...in "new ways"

buy a marshall.
you already have kick ass amps - buy a fuckin slum ass JCM2000 for 500 bucks off craigslist and get it jerryP modded lol
put some choice tubes in it and bathe yourself in all that is the glory of the modded marshall mid range assault on the cheap lol

5150, VHT, Framus, Soldano, Titan, Splawn, etc... lots of choices man.

I actually didn't like the 2000 series because I thought it didn't have the typical Marshall tuned mids. I felt like it was Marshall trying to compete with a rectifier sound.

Eric
You said it right there bro. Just get a IV and be done with it.

I've said it before and I'll say it again:

EQ is the most important effect in your rig.

Church

id say either a mark 5 or maybe the stage 2 stilletto even

both those amps have tons of mids you can completely scoop the shit outa them and they still cut through the mix

i have the same prob scooping my amps lol i love some scooped mids

hm interesting. mine's modded, and after spending so much time with it i wouldn't compare it to anything but another marshall lol. i've had it back from being modded for probably a couple of years now. took me quite awhile to discover the best settings in it though. it can do other stuff besides marshall, but it really just shines in the marshall type sounds. i wouldn't brag on it for anything other than that.
it really needs a good speaker cab, and alot of volume. then plug a good guitar up to it and play with the volume knob, and it really comes to life.
