Kage and I played a Bruno UG30 over the weekend that was drop dead incredible in the clean Vox-y tone dept.......

Nothing wrong with the GAS, other than - and I quote "dude, I'm done right here" (as he points at the JVM and MK IV ). Good thing I don't have GAS

Man Scott, they are definitely a fun alternative... My Budda has a cathode-biased EL84 output section that reminds me of the AC30 thing. And, add a cool, dark gain channel on top, and iizzzzzzzzaniccccceeeee.

It's not my amp for everything, especially if you don't want the bottom end to bloom on you... but if the style can handle it, it's cool.

Hey Scott, go try a Lonestar. The cleans on them are awesome. Dial the dirty channel in like a MarkIII and you'll like it. The Lonestar special is one of my favorite small combos. I tried the Express but didn't like it as much.

I think there's a Valvetech Hayseed on the bay right now. That's supposed to be some of the best AC-30 tones for the price....handwired vs. Chinese sweatshop.

Go to Ultrasound and play the Matchless DC30. People always talked about rodded Marshalls. To me, that thing is a rodded Vox and an all-time classic amp. I could live with it, for sure. Tooooonnnneeeeee.....

I did not buy one yet I just have that tone in my head right now and I was digging the Fender Deville my neighbor has....tis stuff better be a passing phase!!!!

Sorry I did not get ya earlier Steve, had the broker over buying more Exxon and oil stock

No worries, just calling to give you a heads up about the local AC 30...

FWIW, the AC 30, the Hayseed 30 and the Matchless DC 30 DESTROY that Deville - not even in the same category and really a different tone.

The Deville is pretty cool on its own though.....you've got cleans pretty well covered with the JC120.
