Aaaarrrgh slow shipper on reverb!!

Finally found a deal on a dean stealth on reverb, paid for it on Sunday hoping it would be sent in a day or two, and the guy still hasn’t shipped it. Messaged last night and asked (nicely) if it had been shipped, and he said he was going to GC to get a box..... that makes me nervous. I don’t understand and I guess I’m being a little impatient; but don’t they hold payment til a tracking number is posted?
Am I being impatient?

He definitely has your money already, at least as far as I can remember how Reverb works. But taking all week to even start looking for packing material isn´t OK unless you´ve talked about it beforehand, so I wouldn´t say you´re impatient.

Every time I’ve been payed through reverb it says payment pending, and as soon as I post tracking info, it completes the transfer. This sucks. I thought it was a safety feature, but maybe not...

He already has your money. You get paid immediately after they pay has been my reverb dealings. Waiting a couple days is acceptable. It can take me up to 48 hours to ship as far as business days. You paid on Sunday so I would have expected it shipped by Tuesday end of business day. Being told 5 days after payment was received, and the 4th business day in, that it hasn't even been packaged, would concern me. I can check but I thought reverb policy was to have it shipped within 3 days. If you had time to take pictures, create a listing, and have it sitting for sale you had time to get a box and package it so it was ready to go when someone pays. At least that's how I roll and I would expect most here would think 2-3 days is good. If I buy it on Sunday, I would hope for it by the weekend but at least early the next week. I would call this bs

I just looked it up. It’s supposed to be within 72 hours of payment. I’ll be patient for a couple days, as I really want this guitar, but yeah it’s bullshit to sell a guitar and not have a plan or materials to get it sent out. I’ve been real fortunate on reverb since I quit using eBay a few years back, and have gotten used to deals on here going smoothly for the most part.

For the guy to not even have a box is ridiculous. He was not prepared to ship something but he was ready to accept the money. GTFO - this is the type of guy who will just put a guitar in a loose box and wonder why the headstock snapped during shipping.

Ok I am being a bit extreme but screw that. Unless you absolutely have to have the guitar, can't find another or got a crazy deal. Idk your call man.

Reminds me of one of the very few bad experiences I had buying a guitar. Some guy on SS.org - same exact deal. Had my money for over a week, polite emails asking what's up - replied with excuses then at the end of the day he decided that buying a case to ship the guitar in was just too much money for him to spend.

I’ll send him a message this eve, and give him til tomorrow to send me tracking before I start being a dick. Even if it ends ok, I will be writing in his review that you should be prepared to pack it as soon as it’s sold. If he doesn’t send me tracking by tomorrow I’ll start the damn process of refund through reverb.

I sold an amp Tuesday night, and yesterday made a trip to the UPS store and bought a box. Shipped later that day. I had a rack unit that I bought a month ago and no tracking, no tracking...politely asked when and they told me 2 wks....they were on vacation. I asked for a refund and got one.

The seller should have had it packed in the box ready to go prior to posting on Reverb.

During checkout, did you click reverb payments, or PayPal? If Reverb payments, seller doesn’t get paid until tracking number is uploaded (if you’ve been a good seller, if it’s first sale, I believe they get the money upon being notified the item was delivered). If you clicked PayPal, he is probably already paid. Also keep in mind, you can pay reverb payments with PayPal, but you’re paying reverb, and the rules from the first scenario apply.

I did pay through reverb. I rarely use PayPal anymore. My wife still has a PayPal acct and I use hers from time to time, but usually only someone I know or someone in good standing here. My old PayPal got hacked and screwed over a couple times in the past so I quit using it.

The seller DOES NOT get paid until tracking is provided with Reverb checkout. Reverb pays you, not Paypal. But, I believe the seller has to be set up for Reverb checkout, with his bank account linked to it. Atleast that's how my store is set up. I'm not sure if you're required to do so.

I've done 94 deals on Reverb. From what you're describing, this seller is a class-A fuckhead. I would have lost my patience yesterday. I'd demand a tracking number or refund by day's end tomorrow, and not leave it up for discussion. This is why I save boxes. If I take more than 24 hours to ship an item, it's a fluke. I hate people that pull this shit, and it almost always doesn't end well. Looking for a box 4 days later is bullshit.

Yup. I don’t get paid til I ship. I don’t keep boxes on hand but as soon as someth By sells I pay to have it packs and ship it ASAP.

I DO however only ship Mon-Fri and I list that in the description. Also, if it sells Friday evening, it goes out on Monday. It’s not that hard.
