Eeeeeeeeegaaaad, I KNEW I was gonna get called out on that one...

As mentioned, my guy in Toronto basically calls me up and says "hey man, I know these aren't your thing, but if you want one, I've got 3 axes (these models) and I can sell 'em to you for next to nothing. Lemme know if you want one, they're great for beaters, giggers, travellers or the like - just firm one up before the end of the weekend and she's yours". That's the intel I was given - I checked the pricing out there, and I'm in for closer to 30% retail than 40% retail - practically a giveaway. So rather than go apeshit on the tonewoods, pups and the like, I just thought which one has got the best going for it??

That's it that's all... I don't wanna get all pedantic on this guy, I'm getting a NIB guitar, full warranty, etc. for next to nuthin' if I buy in.

I'm looking for this to be my "I don't care if it gets beat to shit" guitar. Tone isn't the utmost priority as this guitar will also be the one taking the most abuse in public and the like, but if it's attainable, sure - bonus.

Coming from a LP background as you say I would get a Tele personally. Indestructible, I put a full humbucker in mine and it served me well for a robust low stress design. I think most are routed underneath for full humbuckers these days (if you care about that) if I'm not mistaken...could be wrong though.

Truthfully, if they are that cheap, get a Hercules wall hanger and buy either the Jazz or Jag and have it as a sweet piece of wall art.

Alright, If it HAS to be one of these three how bout tellin us exactly which of those models we are talking about.

As stated, he's got a Jazzmaster, Mustang and Jaguar, each one the top drawer model, '62 special edition for one of 'em, can't remember the others, but they're the highest priced in their category, and I can get 'em for about 30% retail.
