+1000 x better !

Its always the obvious stupid stuff that gets overlooked. I never once thought about pulling a spring. I might be the forum's official oldest noob…..
What you lack in guitar setup skillz you make up for in pharmaceuticals ;) :D

Pharmaceutaskillz !!! Doh !!!!
As you count, just keep it "one for you, two for you, three for you, four for you etc.." not "one for you , two for me, " LOL

You could not pay me to put narcotics in my bloodstream after witnessing what it does to people. Between hydrocodone overdoses and impaired pharmacists Ive seen it all. Very sad.

Drugz are bad mmmmkay ?

I have an SS1 actually the first one.
2 springs no such issues. Harmonics a plenty..
I do find too many springs cause the guitar to be a little "lifeless" for the shreddy stuff.
I would send it to Scott and have him give it a once over. He would certainly get the guitar right for you.

Scott is awesome but I would not bug him with this. My issue was an easy fix in the end thanks to the responses on RG.

What pups do you have in the SS1. I have a duncan custom and jazz humbucker.

Strange
I have 3 springs on all my Floyds & have no issues as described here

I have 3 in my Charvel MZ and it plays like butter. Might just be the nature of this particular guitar. The action is much more to my liking after removing the spring.

Sorry to be a thread necromancer but I got my Splawn SS2 back from my tech on june 14th. Unfortunately I was run over by a car that afternoon and never got a chance to open the case let alone try the guitar out.

So fast forward to today and Im on the mend and walking with a walker. I have not been upstairs in my house since I was released from the hospital so I have not been where I store my guitars. I totally forgot that I had picked up the guitar so I had my wife bring it down to me as I am able to play sitting down.

To the point of this update the Splawn SS2 absolutely rips now. Removing the third spring made all thedifference in the world. I have been playing for hours today and cant put it down. These really are great guitars and Im glad I did not give in to my frustrations and got everything under control.

Go buy a Splawn ( they are offering pedalboards soon too).

Wow, that's too bad you had to go through the accident. Glad you are on the mend.
