I've had both. Started with the 2, but when compared side by side with my friends 1, I preferred that sound. The 2 didn't do the in-between sounds as well IMO.

Yeah the Mp-1 sounds more organic and like a real amp. The Mp-2 sounds good but what really shines on it is it's clean sounds and the crazy gated lead presets I can put together for solos. But the Mp-1 definitely gets played way more.

I had 2 of them (ADA mp-1), one was a backup. I used these with a Marshall JCM 2203 an 2204 (in the low input).

I made this video a while back of my 3TM modded MP-1

If you're in the U.S. and you want an ADA MC-1 Foot Controller to complete this let me know and I'll dig mine out and sell it cheap :) Eric

I may be interested if he passes.

I just checked and can't find the power supply. I think I included that one when I sold a DMC Ground Control as they used the same one. . Anyway that sucks, but it's a 9vac/dc 500ma power supply it'll need and the negative center is 2.5mm. All I have here are 2.1mm power supplies. .... BUT if someone uses a 7 pin midi cable from their ADA MP1etc that actually phantom powers the MC1 controller pedal and you don't need the power supply that way. Anyway, if you'd still want it, I'd just charge you shipping from VT and someone can pick it up for free that way plus shipping. p.s. I found the right kind of power supplies on ebay for 8.79 if someone wanted to go that way

I was an ADA guy for a while. Had the original. I tried the Classic but thought it sounded like shit. I also had the MP-2 which was mega gain but ultimately more processed than the 1st.
To bad they went under. It would be cool to see what that dude would come up with today.

I used an MP-1 for almost 2 decades! I still have several units in various stages of mods (Mk4 & 3.666) and disrepair. I break one out now and then........

Dug up this fossil
This was somewhere between 2005-2007. I did this Jam on a Fostex D-1624 with a Drum Machine, Mackie Mixer and mixed it down to a CD-R. I uploaded it to this Forum if I'm not mistaken.. No Computers on this.
I did the guitars with the MP-2. Kinda fuzzy but sustain for days. This is the only recording I have when I owned it..
