ADA MP-1 vs Marshall JMP-1

The jmp1 and ada thru a vht classic power amp is thee bomb.On certain days I actually prefer that over my 2203 and 2210 jcm heads.
---the " disconnected feel" that some experience can absolutely be 98.9% gone if you have the right tubes, and the right poweramp bringing it all together. ---
I've experienced that disconnection before too- decades ago, many moons ago when I first jumped into rack gear via late 80s.I was lucky to acquire a 2203,2210 and slo back then.
Here's some setups I've acquired that I actually prefer over said heads at times:
-X88r into a vht 2150
-Mesa quad or triaxis into a strategy 400 or 500
-ada 3tm or jmp1 into a vht 2100 or 2-50-2
I actually preferred the Peavey Stereo Classic 120 over the VHT, had more low end punch. IMO it's easily the most underrated power amp of that era, what a beast of a power amp.

I had the VHT for a bit running the modded ADA and the Langner pre-amp, at that point I was switching between the ADA and Gallien Krueger for clean tones with Langner for high gain. Traded a guy plus he gave me some coin for his Peavey, he was hard after that VHT. I eventually just moved to the Langner for everything even though the cleans were just average. That rig with the Peavey hit hard, I gigged that for a couple years. Great sound but I just remember sitting at my friends for hours switching back and forth with the OG 5150 and it all just clicked. I gave up running stereo for it.

The Langner/Peavey is still one of my best high gain sounds though, top 5 for me and all the gear I have owned but for me, there's definitely a connected feel with an amp.

^^^^ my buddy had one of those peavey poweramps when we were attempting to do a Christian metal band version of racer x lol.ala mid 90s.It is a nice power amp. I agree, an amp has a feel you can't beat, but with the right preamps and poweramps, and everything biased up right you cab get dang close to an amp head feel.ive done it,and still have that setup. And the fun factor for me is better with my preamps and such.
Disclaimer: my poweramps all had winged c tubes biased up properly. This makes a big big difference in more authentic feel. A lot of these poweamps are biased chilly cold from factory.
To the o.p.- if you ever get a setup where you can run both the jmp1 and ada in stereo to separate cabs,it's a really cool, nice full sound. In my bradshaw rig, I can run 2 preamps in parallel to 2 different poweramps out to various 4x12 cabs. Its a massive huge sound.Lots of fun.
