$4k ain't shit for debt. No doubt the best way to boost your score is to cycle it off every month and use more. Unless I'm missing something I say go buy what you want.

My best buddy's wife spent over $1000 a week for several years; he couldn't stop her.

Thanks to government intervention due to her mental health, the major drain has reduced to a trickle, but he's $67 000 in debt to the tax office and has nothing left for himself.

She managed to find new ways to blow money every day. It was unbelievable; you couldn't make that shit up either.
 
Adulting sucks man... it sucks even harder when you have become responsible for a parent or in law that never planned shit for themselves, and you get stuck holding the bag... went thru a round of that shit with my dad a few years ago, and this year getting round 2 with my mother in law. I know quite a few of you guys know what I mean, thats the worse kind of adulting...
 
Preach brother.

Most folks probably immediately think "financial", but if a sibling chooses not to grow up or learn any manners or etiquette, it can be a real burden if you're lumped with the "responsibility" of teaching them... when they don't even wanna learn but insist on "attaching themselves" to you.
 
We've been saving to move out of state for nearly 3 years now, and costs have risen so much it's barely made a dent in what we'll ultimately need.

I've let quite a few great local deals slip through the cracks on account of it too. I should probably play the stuff I have & be happy.

Yep. It's not always cheaper to keep her; at least it wasn't in my divorce.

I pay her alimony with a few more years to go; I still pay her child support few more years to go; even though the kids live with me by their own choice.

I have always been responsible. However, after my divorce I found myself flush with cash and was living in a small apartment. I drove a company car, had low bills and plenty of disposable income. At one time I had like 12 guitars then and could get whatever I wanted. Then I got remarried and bought a house etc. Company car went away and now I can only do 1 major gear purchase a year. Now my money goes into fixing house shit and that is boring as hell and not fun. I just had a deck repair that popped up 3 weeks ago and cost me 1500.00. So much fun!
