Hi all, I've done some research and used the search function, but my question is too specific so I need your help/advice on what you think the best solution is, based on your experience. Thanks in advance!

My goals: I want to control my amp and multieffects processor (currently no stomboxes) with one foot controller, but at the same time keep the rig as small as possible. Also: The different channels on my amp have different volumes that I need to compensate via the multieffects unit.
More details below, but my main questions are:
1) Midi-only vs. rack based switching system (i.e. Voodoo Lab GXC)?;
2) For either option: What gear would you recommend and why (switcher, cables, and foot controller)?

I have sold a lot of stuff and saved enough, so for this I have no money constraints and want something high quality and long lasting.

My rig:
Amp: Diezel Einstein 50W combo (MOD: CH1 modes are footswitchable)
Rack:
- Furman power conditioner
- TC Electronic G-Major 2
- Wireless
Currently on the floor:
- Midi controller: Behringer FCB
- two button Diezel Channel / Master footswitch* (1/4" stereo plug)
- one button footswitch for amp's reverb (1/4" mono plug)
- three button footswitch for changing CH1 modes* (1/4" stereo plug)
- tuner, wah, pedal power, etc. -> not relevant for this topic

= too much tap dancing!

* I can get rid of either one of these by using the TC's relay switch and controlling via midi.

So, Option A: I use a Midi control switcher (i.e. Voodoo Lab: http://www.voodoolab.com/controlswitcher.htm) to cramp into the back of the combo somehow and make the channel/master, reverb, and CH1 switches midi capable. If I'm not mistaken I suppose I would need five loops, so I could either ditch the reverb or need to find another switcher with more loops. With this solution my rack could stay the same, nice and small. Not a lot of flexibilty for adding another amp in the future (unless the amp is midi-capable, which is more and more likely) ot stompoxes though.

Option B: I use a rack unit (i.e. Voodoo Lab GCX) for switching everything. With this solution I would have more flexibilty but would have to expand my rack = more stuff to lug around.

Thoughts / Opinions? Thanks again!

Rjm amp gizmo (either the mini or the big one) does the same thing as control switcher but has 8 switch options vs the 4 of control switcher. The rub is that finding one at a decent used price is hard to do and you need adapter cables unless you get the big boy version. So I'm running 2 control switchers in my rig cus it was still cheaper than 1 rjm at the time. The voodoo stuff is easy to program, I've even used a boss es-8 to send pc commands to both control switchers pretty easily. If you have 1 rack space available, a gcx might be easiest option. It works just like using 2 control switchers.

Thanks, much appreciated! Afaik RJM doesn't have an adapter cable for the mini amp gizmo and the Diezel. Maybe some other people will chime in with their experiences.

Pm gsxrbusa. He is very knowledgeable about multiple amps and effects switching systems. He has a crazy setup for that room his gear is in.

I think any breakout cable that goes from 7 pin din (midi) to tr Jack's would work.
