Found one on Guitar Center used for $399.... The wife said get it and pitched in about 50% for my upcoming birthday...

I know several of you said to get the IR-X, but I wanted the IR-J, and I have never owned a piece of Signature gear....

A quick ops check and ..... Damn....

I had a feeling that if I went IR-X, it would always be sitting in my mind that I should have got the IR-J.

My wife said, get the one you think you want. So I've been waiting for a price I could stomach....

Ok... Playing on this thing for the last 2 hours....

This fills the hole I had in my tone abilities...

Channel 1 will be nice and clean

Channel 2 has plenty of gain on tap, but not as much as my home built BME V12 head, which only gets about "Clean" enough to do AC/DC levels of crunch and increases from there... rapidly

I still need to fiddle with the Tube Screamer Boost settings on each channel, right now the volume and Tone on each one is set at 12 O'clock

But first impressions.... Damn, what a unit

1 complaint

the knobs move too easy and are easy to bump... probably will be looking for O-rings to add a bit of resistance

Run an EQ pedal in the loop for more brutal tones

oh and don't forget to turn off the IR's if you are running into guitar cabs .. huge difference in tone haha

In my house, my gear acquisition is getting so bad that my wife would ask "what is that?" and I'd be holding that IR-J but sitting on four boxes of other Friedman stuff.
