The only thing that would make this thread better would be pics.

Is that iCarly in your avatar? Dude, what is she twelve?

That was a great read! Alweays enjoy your posts! Please show us pics when you get them in stock. Would love to drool over Custom Shop Charvels!!

I hate reading long posts but that was indeed well worth it. thanks for sharing. Now I feel like I should go look at one of the few production run charvels that are still for sale. there are two that are for sale for 40% off because they got tiny dings in them.

Killer story!!! Fender did something similar with Gretsch as well. Say what you want about them, but they seem to "get it" more so than Gibson.

Cool post, Curt.

They didn't mention the other, larger custom shop in Mexico?

No, that's the Vigier custom shop. You think Vigier is a French company? Say the name Vigier but roll that last r-r-r-r-r-r-r-r-. See? Now let's go have some carnitas and cerveza, cabron! :D

Wow! Great read! Thanks for sharing! I think when I go home, I'm gonna hug my SL2HT. :D

Are you sure? I haven't really been liking my Vigier much lately but if they're a Mexican company there could still be hope.

For sure!

Gibson needs new guidance from above...in bad hands right now.

So can Charvels be ordered with ebony boards now?

Charvel custom shop has always done ebony boards and there is no upcharge for ebony versus maple.

I saw the Gretsch custom shop for just a minute and it was the same deal as Jackson. Small with just a handful of skilled workers.

That was one of the coolest reads in a long time. What a dream day for you Curt! Cool to see that companies you thought were part of the large juggernauts are essentially boutique quality. Either way, very cool!

just recently I placed an order for a fender EVH wolfgang in trans cherry. (actually its more like black cherry, but thats what they call it)

nice to know they are built with pride by true craftsmen, instead of mass produced by machines. I'm looking forward to it even more now. October (est. delivery) cannot come soon enough!

thanks for the read, good stuff! Thanks for sharing.
