Agile guitars...........I am shocked !!!

I apologize for all these pictures...........however, I just got an AL-3100 w/HSC for a little over 4 bills to my door. I was a bit reluctant because I knew nothing about them other than people rave about them on the net. But I thought that just might be people trying to justify their purchase of a Korean guitar. But I figured for the price it wouldn't hurt to try. And I am so glad I took that chance.

First of all, I have owned the following:

1995 Gibson LP Standard
1998 Gibson LP DC
2008 Gibson LP Classic Antique
2009 Gibson Traditional
2008 Gibson Traditional Plus
Edward LP
Epiphone Standard

Dare I say that this Agile stomps all of them except my 95' Standard. And I'm not even sure about that one yet.

The finish is flawless and the intonation/tuning/setup is perfect. The pickups sound just like Burstbucker Pros to me (maybe a touch darker). This one has the "thin" neck which might take some getting used to. But other than that :rock: :thumbsup:

I really don't know what I'm missing here..........I mean $400 :confused: I am buying another one in all white next week :thumbsup: I could care less what it says on the headstock if they are all this nice. And it weighs 11 lbs. like a LP should IMO.

Wow. I've never owned/played anything like a LP. Now I think I need one! Awesome guitar!
 
Awesome dude! I have heard a lot of good things about Agiles. Korean guitars can definitely be monstrous for the price.


The fact that you say it beats out all your LPs has me reaching for my wallet though... I need an LP type guitar

Do it. I'm being totally honest on this one. From what I could gather, stick to the 2500 and up models.

a good guitar is a good guitar, and paying $400 beats the shit out of 4 grand! :rock:
 
If they ever make an AL-3100 with Floyd Rose and thin neck, it's going to be mine.
 
I like the older Agile guitars, the ones that used to have the real Gibson Headstocks also I like the Agile explorers and if I remember correctly Gibson put a stop to those. :aww: :cry:

Get your credit card ready cuz I saw one on their website. Not sure what kind of neck it had though.

I remember there being a baritone AL somewhere on Rondo, but I can't remember if it had a Floyd Rose.

One of the most overlooked attributes of the Agile guitars is the quality of the pickups. I usually find that people immediately think they have to replace all the electronics. I have an Agile baritone with active pickups - the pickups on this thing are heavenly and there is something mysterious about them, in that there is a guy on the internet who is trying to buy all these up. Secondly, I replaced the pickups on my Agile strat with Fender's Texas Specials, and they paled in comparison to the stock pickups. I can't say enough good things about these guitars, although I did have an Agile Explorer which never seemed to stay in tune. For $400 purchase price, I think I ended up re-selling it for $450! First time I'd ever made money on a guitar.

I've owned several Agiles, they're amazing bang for the buck. The only downside is their quality control is hit or miss... but with a no-risk return policy for defects it's not a big deal at all.
 
I've wanted an Agile Ghost (lawsuit model) in White for years.
 
I had an Agile LP with JB's in it and loved it. I sold it when I picked up my first real LP but I would buy a 3100 on the used market in a second if I found one. Mine sounded and played very well and all for the price of a beater. And I did beat the hell out of mine.
 
Koreans should be awsome at building guitars since they
make more than any other country.
I've been wanting to buy one of those but I've been affraid.
I could spend a few hundred on something else right?

Like I mentioned in a post above, the explorer models looked awesome, but playing wise they weren't very good. Had a huge, thick, baseball-bat neck with very small frets. I could never keep mine in tune. Seemed like the headstock was too thin and would flex. All the other model's I've played and owned have been great.
