anyone have a setup like this? after putting the duncan distortion in my epi, I realized how weak the stock neck pup is..

I need something hotter, but not super hot or super bassy..but I want it to be full sounding and I don't want to fight it...

I was looking at the PAF pro and the Air Zone, but it seems that they may bet boomy on the low end awfully quick...

I ask about dimarzios cause there's not one duncan neck pickup (59, jazz, pearly gates) I've used that I actually like...either too twangy or not quite hot enough

reason I was looking into the air norton over the PAF was cause of the EQ...seems to have less bass than the PAF....so I don't need a super bass heavy pup cause it's a pretty big sounding guitar as it is

I love the Air Norton. I have one in my Yamaha and Ibanez. It is a nice pickup, nice smooth sustain, not at all boomy. Nice creamy leads, It is IMHO way better than a PAF. Go to the Dimarzio site and look at the recommendations. I am using one with an Evolution and a Tone Zone and they were balance pretty good. I am now using it with a D-Activator and it sounds great and well balance in volume.

I tried Air Norton / Air Zone for neck and bridge, enede up with Air Zone / Tone Zone. Not quite enough oomph with the Norton, the Air Zone is much better.

what kinda guitar/amp/style?

I had the AN in the neck of my LP studio. I liked it a lot, one of my fav neck pickups

I had an Air Norton in the neck of my Edwards LPC... it was the PERFECT neck pickup for that guitar!
