A quick 'rundown' of equipment used for my band ERUPTION's upcoming promo video, probably the closest I'll ever get to being on Van Halen's stage
12 EVH 5150 heads and 12 4x12 cabs!

Bass player: "Uh, Al, there's no room for MY rig."
Al: "WHAT??"

Is that the new Echoplex preamp pedal from Dunlop on the far right ? What do you use it for with the amount of gain the 5153 has ? And what's in the rack with the Mosvalve, and what's the Mosvalve for ? W/D/W/ ?

I've always wondered how you play through that many heads at once? Are you actually doing that? Talk about a wall of sound, damn. I could never afford that many heads and the tubes!

Yes, if you set the echoplex pedal half way up, it's at unity gain, not boosting at all just like a real Maestro Echoplex works, only when you run the pedal more than half way up, you get added gain. I hope to make a demo video of the Dunlop Echoplex vs. Maestro Echoplex soon, It's a cool pedal, that Maestro Echoplex was a huge part of EVH's sound in the early days

The rack holds a couple of power amps, which I used to power the stage monitors, although I sometimes use that Mosvalve for powering a preamp or for slaving.

I wonder what the Mosvalve is for? I have one of those in my basement. :)

Lucky guess! Even Yngwie has his 20 Marshall heads on HIS side of the stage!

I'd love to hear a demo showing the gain a cranked up Echoplex adds - could be a key piece in the first album tone hunt!

Nice. I keep thinking about getting one of those EP Pre pedals.
