So I ordered a Suhr Aldrich bridge humbucker for my strat. After installing it in the strat, I realized that it wasn't really the tone that I wanted for my strat. It sounded good, but I wanted something a little less aggressive. I decided to drop in in my Les Paul- my heavy guitar- and holy smokes this thing sounds good! It's got that chest thumping bass response without getting muddy. There is a super nice growl going on in the mids, and the top end cuts through without sounding shrill. I guess now I'm gonna have to order the neck model to finish the guitar up. [Borat voice:] Great Success!

High Five! :D

I'm debating between an Aldrich or an Afwayu for my Silhouette

You still interested in buying that BBIII? Maybe it'd work in your strat...

I say try the Afwayu's...I didn't like the Aldrich in my Silhouette.

Yeah the Aldrich is made for the Les Paul. It is like a match made in heaven. Everytime I plug in I'm a happy camper. :)

I just got my Basswood PGM back with the Aldrich set installed, and after playing non-stop all afternoon I have to say I'd love to hear them in an LP style guitar.
I think that would indeed be a super matchup.

Do you have a 250k pot in the strat? Jon Suhr said anything under 500K killed the tone of that pickup.

I love the Aldrich in my old Charvel 750XL, which isn´t a LP but about as close as a superstrat gets; set-neck, mahogany, 24.75", rosewood board. I always have a hard time describing the Aldrich... it´s a walking paradox. Aggressive but sweet, thick but clear... very balanced and "natural-sounding" for being such a firebreather, it that makes any sense.

I have one in my LTD axe, neck through, Mahogany....sounds sick!
Probably the best pickup I've played through....but the HellaRail beckons me. :scared:

No, my Deluxe Strat has 1Meg pots. It didn't sound bad at all, but it just want the tone I was looking to get out of that particular guitar.

I have an Aldrich in the bridge of both of my LP's. Great pickup. I have one that has an Aldrich neck, its a nice pickup for gain, but not as sweet as the stock BB pickup was.

The Rio Grande BBQ was the best sound I ever had in my Strat.
I swapped it for an Aldrich, but liked the BBQ more.

I since sold the Strat with the Aldrich, and ruined the BBQ when taking it out from the Strat (or in storage.) It no longer works.
It`s probaby my favorite bridge humbucker.

+1
The Suhr Aldrich indeed boggles the mind.

I have a BG Hellabucker bridge and a BG custom-wound neck on order.
Bryan called the neck pickup the Hella Custom neck.
It's wound to 13k DC resistance.
Can't wait to compare them to the Aldrich set.

Ya, to my ears the BBQ is a little less hot, and beefier.
Very nice complement to a Strat (and it sounded glorious in an Ibanez RG as well)
