yay or nay ?

I have 2 Les Pauls with Floyds. I got both of mine for under $2k. With the crazy prices that people are asking $4k plus for used ones, this Alex Lifeson signature model is a great deal for the money. Floyd rose, Piezo pickups all for $899 is a steal even being an Epi. If you can get past the head stock this is a killer offering.

How about an option for maybe. I’d need to feel one in my hands first.

MIC like 97.9% of everything on the planet.
You can run but you can't hide.
I have to take the China stuff case by case.
Some is really decent/some not so much.

That's it exactly. Companies want things built to a certain price point, and that's what ends up making a difference, plus QC. My main three guitars are a MIC Hagstrom Super Viking, a MIK Schecter V-1, and a Gibson USA LP Custom, and all three are up to the task. I'm pretty sure my Schecter isn't Honduras mahogany, and the Hagstrom fingerboard isn't ebony, but they didn't have the finish sags and improperly cut nut of my Gibson either. Because they can source labor and (sometimes) materials for less, I think Asian companies are in a better position to economize without cutting the same corners the US companies would need to in order to compete at the same price points.

Case by case for sure. Not even remotely as simple as country of origin.

Zactly.

Not a fan of that burst color but all the other specs and $ are right...

I got the advertisement email about this; definitely would. Seems like a great value

Yeah, I get that. Many things come from China, and of course, many things I own/buy/use are made in China. But, I have had back luck with some Chinese amps, and guitars. Guitars, especially. Bad QC. I understand Epiphone's quality has improved, but I still steer clear.
