With all these band tribute threads lately I thought I'd post one about one of my favorites AIC. Facelift and Dirt had a huge impact on me and I think Jerry Cantrell is a very original guitarist and I dig the old bogner and modded marshall tones.

I started playing in 1993 and Cantrell was just it for me. I listened to nothing but the Dirt record for 6 months and even today the song writing is nothing short of genius.

AIC for life!

Cantrell is definetly my fav and biggest influence. Killer band.

First time I ever heard AIC was when they opened for Van Halen in 1991...to this day...that was the BEST show I've ever seen... I knew they were gonna be big after that show

I was a huge fan of Facelift and Dirt, they were one of my favorite bands back in those days.

Still my favorite band of all time. Their unique use of harmonies gave them an original sound like I had never heard before. Their music is rather haunting yet beautiful in the same aspect. Saw them last year and they still sound killer even without Layne.

AIC is the perfect band for what I like. Great tone... Different albums, still pull a great dark crunch. Part of why I have a Bogner now. The rhythms are killer. The lead in Nutshell is one that just pulls you in. Rooster is like that too. But the new disc has some monster tone and fat tracked guitars. Lesson Learned is sick.

I have 16 years on the other side of addiction. Seen a few not make the best choices. Listening to Your Decision is very real.

AIC is definitely one of the all time greats in my book, for quality music of substance.

Probably my all round favourite band ever, amazing song writing guitar playing, tone, variation, vocals and killer live shows, i hope they release a new record and tour in 2012

Definitely one of my favorites and part of the reason I want to add a marshall to my small collection.

I saw AIC back in August in Oklahoma and Jerry said the band was working on a new album currently so hopefully it will be out sometime in 2012. Can't wait to hear it.

i remember they got booed like crazy when they opened for slayer. They always got killer guitar tones.

Facelift is fucking killer. Love AIC. Dark, twisted take on King's X (one of my favorite bands).

By the way, I've seen them many times but most recently on the BlackDiamondSkye tour, and when the tech was doin soundcheck for Jerry's guitar and hit an open D chord, my mouth fucking dropped. Probably the best guitar tone I've ever heard in person. I believe it was a Shiva and Marsha. I was so floored. Always a great show!
